We are located in Ellicott City, Maryland Small Miracles Cat & Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit focused on finding adoptive homes for stray, surrendered, abandoned and/or homeless cats and dogs in Howard County, Mary

land, and beyond. Small Miracles has helped find adoptive homes for thousands of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies since 2006. We have a robust network of volunteers and foster homes who provide needy animals with shelter, socialization, training and necessary veterinary care in preparation for adoption. Adoption fees:
Cats - $100
Kittens - $155
Dogs - $350
Microchips for adopted animals available for $30 with lifetime registration. Cardboard carriers are available for $5. Adoptable animals have received a vet exam, vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, flea and tick treatment, de-wormer and stool check. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Dogs are tested for heartworm.

Stop by the shelter tonight for our Thursday adoption hours! They are usually a little quieter than weekend hours, so a great opportunity to meet puppies from foster care, dogs and cats. NINE puppies coming in are a range of sizes and ages - we'd love to help match you up with a puppy or dog that is a great fit for you!

We have so many kittens in foster that it has been depleted.
Any type of food is welcome for this shelf.
It’s been a very rough year with so many kittens.
We have over 50 kittens that are ready for adoption and many more growing fast😢

It was a busy day at the shelter yesterday for both dogs & cats - let's have another one today! We're open from 12-3 pm at 10236 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City.

A big thank you to Tim Carlson and his team at Sergios Jewelers in Ellicott City!

They have been wonderful supporters for Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue!

On August 22nd they sponsored their 6th Small Miracles Puppy adoption event at the Jewelry Store. They contribute a portion of sales and also facilitate adoption of our available puppies, providing an excellent forum for awareness of the Shelter and the needs of the animals!

The event initiated 4 great applications resulting in 3 adoptions!

We look forward to our 7th event later this year. This event will be a great way to see available pups and shop for holiday gifts!

We're hoping for a BIG crowd at the Clarksville Commons Farmers Market on Saturday morning, because we will have a BIG crowd of adoptable puppies there to meet you!

📍Clarksville Commons, 12250 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD

Puppies will be there from 9am-Noon. They are also available via applications emailed to [email protected].

Puppies coming are: Scotch, Sesame, Sheldon, Shrek, Snoopy, Tabasco, Tagalong, Tajin, Tiramisu, Walter, Wilber, Winston, Vinny, Vivian & Pua! They range from 12 weeks to 5 months old, and we anticipate most will wind up in the 'medium' sized range (with a couple a big smaller and a couple a bit bigger).

Stop by beginning at 5 pm tonight (Thursday) to meet Sumo, Scotch, Vinny, Tajin Tabasco, and Walter - plus lots of dogs & cats. You are welcome to submit your application via email in advance, and we'll review it and get back to you as soon as we can.

If you are interested in helping walk some of our shelter dogs and want to learn more about volunteering, join us on Thursday, September 3rd at 5:30 pm. It is a great opportunity to learn more about what our volunteers do, ask any questions you may have, and help give shelter dogs a much-needed break from their kennels! You can also meet some cute furry friends while you’re there 🐶
