We didn’t have a massive budget.
We didn’t have corporate backing.
But we did have a tiny team of passionate estheticians—
and the best lobbyist we could’ve asked for: Sid.

The Maryland Estheticians Alliance started with one goal:
Protect and expand the scope of practice for estheticians.

Two years later, we’ve made real change:

⚖️ Microneedling up to 1mm now in scope
💧 Peels regulated by depth—not percentage
✨ Lash lifting & brow lamination included
💪 Dermaplaning + microcurrent protected
🪑 A Licensed Esthetician now holds a seat on the State Board
👁️ Lash Tech license passed—100 hours, no unfair barriers

This Acne Training Event is open to ALL estheticians across the country! You do not have to be Face Reality certified to join us! And if you are Face Reality certified you might still learn some amazing tips! We need everyone to HELP us! This could be your state next! The first 40 estheticians to sign up will get a free FR cleanser!

All the donations we raise with this event will go directly to the Maryland Estheticians Alliance and help pay for the lobbyist we hired to help fight for our scope of practice.

The Alliance and our lobbyist have been meeting with the state board for months to educate and negotiate the new regulations that were created earlier this year. We were able to get dermaplaning approved, but we are still not allowed to perform chemical peels, microcurrent, microneedling, high frequency, or lymphatic drainage massage to name a few.

Legislation opens in January and we will be working on a bill to change our laws that haven’t been updated for 30 years! We have a lot of work to do and appreciate all of the love and support!

The Maryland State Board of Cosmologists voted this past Monday to allow Dermaplaning in our state.
