Sorry for the delayed post, so I want to tell you about our fishing trip with Premier WV Outdoors on Sunday. As usual we were up at 3:30 am to pick our Veterans and on the road headed south by 5:00am. Arriving at the launch site just after 8:00 with belly’s full from a quick breakfast. We started floating by 8:30 with the bite starting quick with some dead time a couple hours later for about an hour then the bite was back on for the rest of the day. Stopping for a shore lunch and telling stories about the fishing and the 5 Eagles we saw, 3 Bald and 2 Golden. We were proud to have Veterans from northern WV clear to Southern WV. The trip with Premier WV Outdoors was Great like always and we were able to boat 221 Smallmouth with about another 150 on the lines but not boated, lost 1 Musky and raised another. We want to thank Dawson’s Towing in Elkins WV for Sponsoring this trip for our Cherished Veterans. They have supported us for many years, and we really appreciate it.

This is a post about our Mission and the reason behind, I hope this helps you understand the outcome P.T.S.D. has on not only our Cherished Veterans but the families as well. Sadly I was the first man in my Family that was not able to serve in the Military as every man in every generation before due to medical reasons. My Father was on the front lines of Korea in the heat of the conflict, it left an everlasting effect on him and made it very difficult for him to show any kind of emotions and affection. It made him Hard as it did many others during that time. I can only imagine what that would do to your sole seeing what they saw, even decades later he was still suffering like many others. As many have, he turned to drinking to try to escape his spooks and horrible past that he had been through in the War. I could not get close to him and try to help because he was so hard and Proud. His drinking got worse and he could not escape his feelings. January 4th 1999 he took his own life despite all the efforts to save him, I was 35 years old when that happened and felt like we could have had so many years together under different circumstances. TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS BIRTHDAY. 16 years later Michele and I created Warriors in the Field LTD to give back to our and try to save our Cherished Veterans and other Families from the continued sadness we and they feel. Please watch for signs and do your best to help our Veterans, sometimes it's hard because they are Very Proud people, but do your best to help when you see signs. They were there for us, we need to be there for them when they need us the most. Thank You for reading and GOD BLESS THE USA AND ALL THAT FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM!

This weekend was incredible, we had 4 US Army Veterans from Monongalia , Preston and Randolph Counties of WV. Of course ...

This weekend was incredible, we had 4 US Army Veterans from Monongalia , Preston and Randolph Counties of WV. Of course we started at 4 am Saturday morning picking up our Veterans, stopping for Breakfast about 6:30 am in Summersville WV then on to our destination of Mountain Meadow Hunting Preserve in Monroe County WV. After arriving at 9:00 am and all the introductions safety meeting and passing along the game plan we are headed to the timber. We put 2 in stands and we took 2 to Glass and stalk. After about a hour and half we got on a good group of pigs and things started happening, after 1 on the ground we here another shot, then another, before we knew we were down to our last hunter. We picked him up to do some spot and stalking. About a hour went by and he put the last hog on the ground. We dropped it off at the shop and we headed back to the lodge for food, fishing and relaxation. Toward evening we started sight seeing to show the guys the entire property, then back for dinner and pool and winding down for the evening. With not having much to do on Sunday morning we had a huge breakfast picked up the meet and headed back home . We want to extend a Special thanks to Tim and Susan Miley from Miley Legal Group in Morgantown WV and Neil and Nancy Smith from Smiths Backhoe and Dozer Service in Elkins WV and ALL the Volunteers that made the possible, look for these hunts on J and J Outdoor Video Magazine on WDTV And Bowman outdoor adventures on You tube and Gen 7 TV. Thank you for your Service and Thanks again to all that made it possible.

Follow up post for this past weekend, we had a Great weekend with Premier West Virginia Outdoors in the New River National Park with Veterans from Gilmer, Fayette and Kanawha Counties in WV. 82 degrees Great Fishing, great Food and some of our Nations Finest, Air Force ,Army Navy and Marines were covered, and were able to put right at 100 fish in the boats. All of this would be possible without Great people such as Cheri Sturm and the Phillips Family Foundation in Philippi WV for Sponsoring this trip for years and years. Also thanks goes out to J and J Outdoor Video Magazine and Greg Bowman for filming and Full Rut Outdoors for helping us out as well.
