A prayer. . . perhaps timely for you? "Lord, in your mercy and grace You have rescued me out of the darkness of this world. Because of this rescue, I can look back at that darkness and see what I could not see when I was in it. I see it for what it is, and my heart aches as I see people I know and love still in it. . . people who don't know that they are in the dark. . . and they are loving it. Lord, I lament. Bring them to their senses, I pray. Rescue them out of the darkness. Bring them to the end of themselves and into the glorious, transforming, and life-giving presence of the Light of the World. Amen."
