One of the things that makes the American Association of Meat Processors' annual convention unlike any other in the industry is that we pride ourselves on being a family-friendly environment. Plenty of business and networking is accomplished at our show, but it is meant to be a place where a small business owner can bring their children. We have kids activities scheduled throughout the show, and extra adult supervision is always appreciated. The U.S. Department of Agriculture will hold a webinar for meat and poultry processors to learn how they can expand their capacity through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program (MPPEP). The webinar is open to the public and will take place on June 16, 2026, at 2 p.m. EST.

During the session, participants will hear a comprehensive overview of MPPEP Phase 4 from program experts and learn how this competitive grant program can support the American beef industry and strengthen local meat and poultry supply chains.

USDA is making $60 million in grants available through Phase 4 of MPPEP. This program underscores Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins’ efforts under the leadership of the Trump Administration to encourage competition and sustainable growth in the U.S. meat processing sector, and to help improve supply chain resiliency.
