Alliance Center for Independence

Alliance Center for Independence ACI supports and promotes independent living for people with disabilities in Middlesex, Union and So

The Alliance Center for Independence (ACI) is one of several Centers for Independent Living across the state of NJ. We assist people with disabilities in living independently in their communities. ACI offers opportunities to individuals living in Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties. There are no fees, eligibility requirements or waiting lists for our programs and services. We believe that disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity.

We recently kicked off our new Allied Men's Group, led by ACI staff Ron and Jason. The men were warmly welcomed as they discussed the purpose of the group, its activities, and what it represents. They also answered questions, participated in icebreakers, and began building a sense of community. It was a great start to what promises to be a meaningful journey!

We hope you'll join us for the next meeting in September!

27 VOICES FOR 27 YEARS: WE’RE STILL ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS!

Due to continued interest and requests from people who would still like to participate, we’ve extended the deadline for our 27 Voices for 27 Years campaign! We are still accepting submissions from people with disabilities, family members, advocates, and allies.

Send us a short 1-minute video or 1-page written story along with a recent photo/headshot. Submissions will be shared as part of our social media campaign and may be included in our booklet for New Jersey legislators.

Not sure what to say? Consider one of these questions:
- Why is living in the community important to you?
- Why is it important to protect the rights of people with disabilities?
- What would you like legislators to know about disability rights and community living?

πŸ“¨ Send your submission to [email protected]

Your story matters. Help us show why disability rights must continue to be protected!
