A big thank you to the UWEC college students who recently visited to share valuable information on heart health and diabetes! ❤️ Their time and knowledge helped equip our guests with practical tools for healthier living. We're also looking forward to future sessions focused on hepatitis and COPD, continuing to bring important health education and resources to those we serve.

It’s easy to take hygiene for granted — until you don’t have it.

Many of the individuals who come through our doors don't always have access to basic hygiene supplies. Having clean clothes, a shower, a fresh haircut or even toothpaste can help someone struggling, feel like they matter. At the Community Haven House we provide approximately 500 showers and 300 loads of laundry per month to the unhoused in our community.

Can you help us provide these hygiene essentials to help restore dignity, confidence, and hope to those who need it most?! Some items we could immediately use are:

Shampoo and Conditioner
Body Wash
Toothpaste
Laundry detergent - Powder
Toilet paper
Deodorant
Feminine Products - super plus

💈 Fresh Cuts, Fresh Confidence

Take a look at this group of incredible barbers who showed up for our homeless community — not for recognition, not for payment, but simply to remind people that they matter.

A free haircut might seem small, but the impact is huge. When you look in the mirror and feel good about yourself, something shifts. You stand a little taller. You feel seen. You remember that you’re worthy of dignity, hope, and a fresh start.

To Eau Claire Barber College: thank you for using your gifts to lift spirits and restore confidence. You’re helping people feel hope again — and that’s powerful.

🚿💙 A New Beginning can start with something as simple as a shower and clean laundry.

We all know how much a hot shower or clean clothes can change the way we feel about ourselves. It boosts confidence, restores dignity, and helps us face the day with renewed strength.

For our neighbors experiencing homelessness, these everyday comforts aren’t always accessible — but they’re deeply needed. Providing showers and laundry services isn’t just about hygiene. It’s about offering hope, stability, and a first step toward recovery.

In 2026, 5,500 showers and over 3,000 loads of laundry have been provided here to those that need it most.

When someone feels clean, they can walk into a job interview with confidence. They can show up to appointments without shame. They can begin to believe that healing and change are possible.

💛 Clean clothes. A warm shower. A fresh start.
Sometimes, hope begins with the basics.

Art Changes Lives — One Brushstroke at a Time

Art has a way of opening doors that words can’t. For some who are struggling, it becomes more than creativity — it’s a safe place to breathe, to process, to rebuild. This beautiful collage was a product of several guests working together, finding confidence and experiencing healing. Thank you to our volunteer who makes sure that art is a part of people rediscovering beauty, purpose and possibility!

It’s a safe place to rest, regroup, and breathe when life feels heavy. Here, neighbors experiencing homelessness, find warmth, connection to resources, and people who genuinely care. A cup of coffee, a quiet corner, a friendly conversation — these small moments build the foundation for hope and stability.

Thank you Chaplains for coming to tour our facility!

Our chaplains had a tour of the Day Resource Center this week run by Hope Gospel Mission. What a great addition to our community! The center is in need of workers and volunteers. It's a safe place for our community members to get a shower, clean their laundry, get some snacks, and hang out. Thank you for supporting our community, Hope Gospel!

Looking for an excuse to Try Transit? Ride the bus for free anywhere in Eau Claire on Thursday, July 23!

Eau Claire ELCA Lutheran Congregations will be sponsoring free fares all day on July 23rd in partnership with the Homeless Connect Event.

Hop on the #8 Bus to attend the Homeless Connect Event from 9am - 11:30am at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1120 Cedar St.

Make sure to stop by the Eau Claire Transit Booth to learn more about our Reduced Fare options for riding the bus! Other free services provided at the event include hair cuts, food, and connection to other community services and resources.
