Have a great weekend! We hope you are able to get out and enjoy the weather like Chaplain John did on his 100 mile ride. 😁

WHEN HOPE FEELS FAR AWAY.
Behind bars, hope can be hard to hold onto. Days become months. Months become years. Relationships change. Families move forward. And it can begin to feel as though the world has forgotten you.

But God has not.
“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31

Every day, Good News Global chaplains have the privilege of reminding men and women behind bars that their circumstances do not have the final word.

There is hope. There is grace. There is a Savior. And no prison wall can keep Him out.

That’s the hope we carry behind bars. Be a part of the movement!

We are pleased to announce that our own local lead chaplain, Brian Jahn, was honored with the Simmer Award for Ministry Excellence presented to him by Good News Global. Since Chaplain Brian was unable to attend the event at the Florida conference, the award was carried home and presented to him in a small gathering here in Eau Claire. We are so blessed with the faithful service of Chaplain Brian, and we are thankful for his example of leadership in our community.

Chaplain John received an award for 5 years of service at the Chippewa County Jail. Our jail ministry is blessed to have such a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus bringing the gospel to our local incarcerated community.

Chaplains John and Kati arrived back from a chaplains' conference in Florida where many chaplains from around the United States gathered for refreshing and leadership support. They had a wonderful time, and stay tuned for tomorrow because we have more exciting news to share from the event!

So proud of Mandy! Mandy has worked as a volunteer in the women's and juvenile's areas of the jail. We agree, well deserved award!

Please help us thank Mandy Alvar, life enrichment director, for going Above & Beyond!

Her award submission shared, "She is always so full of energy, always smiling, & so creative. She was born for her role."

It's true, Mandy... you really were born for this! Thanks for all you do to enrich the lives of our residents each and every day. We are grateful to have you on our team!

“I am victorious.”

Those words were written on the clothing of a woman incarcerated in Egypt. Curious, her Good News Global chaplain asked what they meant.

When he questioned how she could call herself victorious while in prison, she smiled and answered with conviction:

“I may have lost a few years of my life here, but I have victory and triumph through the Lord Jesus.”

What a testimony.

Prison walls may limit where you can go—but they cannot imprison the freedom found in Christ.

That’s Freedom Behind Bars. The Gospel changes everything. 🙌

So thankful for King's The King's Closet Chippewa Valley and their service to the Chippewa Valley.

We are grateful we can help meet this need for many individuals and families (300-400 each week). We appreciate the support we receive from the community and our amazing volunteers! ❤️
