The girls have officially completed their vision boards, and we cannot wait to see them present their dreams, goals, and aspirations at our certificate ceremony on June 17th! ✨

As part of the Foundation of HOPE’s Economic Development and Empowerment Program, the vision board project encourages the girls to think boldly about their futures while building confidence, leadership, and presentation skills.
Throughout the program, they’ve explored topics like self-esteem, workforce development, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and education—all designed to help them become strong, self-sufficient leaders in their communities.

It’s graduation season, and we’re celebrating the power of education! 🎓✨

We are especially proud to honor the accomplishments of those within the Foundation of HOPE family, including Board Member Dr. Olivia Brice, who earned her doctorate in education. Her accomplishment serves as a powerful example for the young women in our programs.

Our Board of Directors is made up of accomplished professionals, community advocates, educators, healthcare leaders, and mentors who generously share their time, expertise, and experiences to help guide the next generation.

As our girls prepare vision boards, explore career pathways, and dream about their futures, they are surrounded by positive role models who show them what success can look like in many different forms.

A few special moments from an unforgettable day!

Last week, our founder had the honor of delivering the commencement address at Chesapeake College, sharing a message of hope, perseverance, and purpose with graduates as they begin their next chapter.

These photos capture not only the significance of the occasion, but also the people who have been part of the journey along the way: Dr. Clifford Coppersmith, Keasha's proud father James Dean, program graduate Kaleigh Hammond, and her mother Keieve Colbert.

From overcoming adversity to uplifting others through service and leadership, her story continues to remind us all that where you begin does not determine where you can go.

Congratulations again to the Chesapeake College Class of 2026. Keep dreaming big and walking boldly into your future. ✨

Good manners, confidence, and kindness were all on the lesson plan during last week’s etiquette session with Ms. Mary Taylor-Acree. 💐

The girls learned about proper table settings, dining etiquette, and the importance of showing kindness and respect in every setting. These experiences help build confidence, social skills, and self-awareness that will serve them for years to come.

We are so thankful for Ms. Mary’s continued support as a community partner and as a member of the Roses of Hope Inner Circle.

On Wednesday, our founder Keasha Haythe delivered the commencement address to the Class of 2026 at Chesapeake College sharing a message rooted in resilience, faith, perseverance, and hope.

In a powerful and deeply personal speech, she reminded graduates that success is not determined by how you start, but by your willingness to keep going when life becomes difficult.
From being told she was “a follower and not a leader,” to becoming a teenage mother at 17, to later becoming the first African-American woman elected to office in her community and building a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing lives, her story is a testament to the power of determination and purpose.

Keasha encouraged graduates to stay curious, serve their communities, embrace resilience, and never allow setbacks to define them.
“Don’t let anyone count you out. But most importantly, don’t count yourself out. Dream big.”

We are incredibly proud to see her continue inspiring others to believe in their potential and pursue a future filled with purpose and possibility.

Congratulations to the Chesapeake College Class of 2026!

As we celebrate the women who poured into us, encouraged us, and helped shape who we are, we’re reminded how powerful a mother’s love and support can be. For many of the girls served through Foundation of HOPE, having strong women in their corner changes everything.

This Mother’s Day, honor a mother, grandmother, mentor, sister, or mother figure by planting a seed of hope in someone else’s future.

🌹 Give in honor of a woman who inspires you
🌹 Help us reach our goal of 25 Roses of HOPE members
🌹 Invest in the next generation of strong young women

The love we receive has the power to bloom far beyond us.

Last week, the girls put the finishing touches on their mosaic masterpieces with artist Jen Wagner! 🎨✨

Experiences like this are more than just fun, as they’re a core part of programming designed to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and develop creativity alongside real-world skills that support each girl’s growth both in and beyond the classroom.
