Yesterday, we gathered, along with many, many friends and family members, to remember our co-founder and guiding light, Libby Moose. It was a beautiful celebration of a life well-lived - one full of kindness, adventure, and generosity. Libby will live on in so many hearts, and in the lives saved through SOS, thanks to her vision and conviction. She was a truly singular human being, and each one of us is incredibly grateful to know her and to play a small role in her life-saving legacy.

Many people with pools at home are starting to close them up for the cold weather months. 🏊🛟 Pool safety is just as important in the "off season" as it is in the middle of the summer. Consider these important tips from the Red Cross, including:

⚠ Completely surround your pool with four-sided isolation fencing with a self-closing and self-latching gate that is out of the reach of a child.
⚠ A four-sided isolation fence (separating the pool area from the house and yard) reduces a child’s risk of drowning 83% compared to three-sided property-line fencing.
⚠ For above-ground pools, secure, lock or remove steps, ladders and anything that can be used for access (such as outdoor furniture and toys) whenever the pool is not being actively supervised by an adult.
⚠ Install a secondary barrier, such as:
Door alarms and locks that are out of the reach of a child on all doors and windows with direct access to the pool or spa area
Lockable covers

Thanks to your support, we were able to provide ❤️1,253❤️ FREE, LIFE-SAVING swim sessions this summer! That includes:

🛟 1,100+ 2-week children's learn-to-swim sessions
🛟 80+ 1-week adult learn-to-swim sessions
🛟 40 1-week junior lifeguard training sessions

In total, SOS has provided ❤️NEARLY 12,000❤️ free swim sessions since our founding in 2014. This is such a wonderful testament to the legacy of our beloved Libby Moose and her fellow co-founders!

...And that's a wrap on another incredible season of sun😎, swimming🏊🏾, and safety🛟! Today was our final day of adult and jr. lifeguard lessons, closing out the season with two big classes whose skill and confidence in the water has grown by leaps and bounds! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you to the 💙 Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation 💙 for administering this program and making a life-saving opportunity available to thousands of local families each summer!
