These kitties are ready to creep it real this Halloween!

A few of our feline friends are dressed to impress, and they’re bringing just the right amount of spooky to ARF Hamptons!

👹 Violet is our little monster, but don’t let the costume fool you. The only thing scary about her is how quickly she’ll steal your heart!

🦈 Toby is swimming into Halloween as a shark! Watch out, because this little predator is on the hunt for treats, toys, and a family to call his own!

🎃 Tokyo is the cutest pumpkin in the patch! Forget the pumpkin spice, this little cutie is serving up a whole lot of purr-sonality!

Wishing everyone a spooky, fun, and SAFE Halloween! And make sure your cats stay safely indoors and away from the door as trick-or-treaters come and go.

Falling for one of these little Halloween characters? Violet, Toby, and Tokyo are ready to cast a spell on your heart! 💚

This handsome two-year-old Bull Terrier came all the way from California, and he’s bringing plenty of tricks, treats, and goofy antics to the East End! Billy has a hilarious personality and a silly streak that will keep you smiling long after the Halloween candy is gone. Billy is also deaf, but that doesn’t stop this spooky season superstar from having a little fun! He learns best through visual signals, hand gestures, and consistent training, so his future family can help him shine in his own unique way. With his larger than life personality and knack for keeping things interesting, Billy is anything but a scaredy cat! He marches to the beat of his own drum and is ready to cast a spell on someone special. Could you be the lucky human to give this batty boy a home to call his own? 💚

Halloween Warning: Watch Out for Toxic Treats 🍬🍫🍭
Halloween may be all treats for children, but for our four-legged friends, it can be full of tricks. Remember that chocolate, sugar-free candy, raisins, and increasingly common THC gummies can pose serious, even life-threatening risks to dogs and cats.

And as one ARF shelter dog recently discovered, the danger isn’t always lurking in the candy bowl.

Earlier this fall, Gumbo was enjoying a walk through Sag Harbor with a volunteer when he apparently picked up and swallowed a discarded gummy from the street. Soon afterward, Gumbo began showing alarming symptoms, including loss of muscle coordination and an unusually slow heart rate. He was rushed to an emergency veterinarian for treatment.

Fortunately, Gumbo made a full recovery! But his frightening experience highlights a growing concern: cannabis edibles, often packaged to resemble ordinary candy, can be especially dangerous to pets. And they don’t have to be left within reach at home to pose a threat.

With a little extra care and awareness, you can help ensure Halloween is safe for every member of the family, including our four-legged friends. Read more at https://arfhamptons.org/post/halloween-warning 💚

From Heartbreak to a Fresh Start: Three Cats Ready for Love

When a house fire on Long Island left three young cats without a home, their ordeal was far from over. Though they survived the fire, they were left behind at the burned down house, neglected and in need of care. Thankfully, a kindhearted Good Samaritan stepped in to feed them, bring them to the veterinarian for a checkup, and reach out to ARF Hamptons for help.

ARF was there to give Bahama Mama, Mai Tai, and Malibu Bay Breeze the second chance they deserved. Today, these three friendly young cats are safe, cared for, and ready to find loving homes of their own.

Their story is a reminder of how a little compassion can change lives, and how ARF is here for animals in need. Now, all three are waiting for the next chapter to begin, one filled with comfort, kindness, and a family to call their own. Could one of these sweet cats be the perfect addition to your home? If you know Jack Russell Terriers, you know they come with a little extra spice, and one-year-old Jack is no exception. This handsome boy has the energy, enthusiasm, and zest for life that make his breed so special. He’s always ready for action and would love a family who can keep up with his busy little self! But behind all that energy is a very sweet boy who has plenty of love to give and would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Jack has the best of both worlds, a lively, spirited personality and a lovable side that makes him hard to resist. He’s looking for a home where he can stay active, explore, and be included in all the fun. Jack is not the pup for someone looking for a couch potato, he’s looking for his partner in crime! Jack needs someone who will enjoy his playful nature, give him outlets for all that classic Jack Russell energy, and appreciate the big personality that comes in his little package. Apply to adopt Jack at arfhamptons.org 💚

Our 10 Hurricane Isaias rescues seek new beginnings ❤️‍🩹 They escaped the storm, but now they need a little help finding their sunshine. ☀️

After arriving on an emergency flight coordinated by BISSELL Pet Foundation, these 10 hurricane rescue dogs found safety at ARF and are now looking for a soft place to begin again in the Hamptons.

Many of them are shy and uncertain, and these deserving pups need someone willing to give them a chance. That’s why we need YOU! Older puppies tend to wait longer for adoption, and black dogs often face longer stays in shelters. We refuse to let any of these pups get overlooked, but we need your help getting their faces in front of the people who might just fall in love with them!

MEET THEM TOMORROW! Some of our new arrivals will be at Kiwanis Club of East Hampton Halloween Family Fun Day in Amagansett. Come say hello and help these pups take their first steps toward forever!

Share this post, tag someone looking for their new best friend, and help us get these 10 deserving dogs seen, loved, and adopted. Learn more and apply to adopt at arfhamptons.org. Questions? Email: [email protected] 💚

At 9-years-young, Thumper is a gentle, affectionate boy with so much love left to give. When he needed surgery to remove both of his eyes, his previous family was unable to move forward with the procedure, and Thumper found himself in need of a new beginning. Despite everything he has been through, Thumper remains as sweet as they come. Though he experiences the world a little differently, he can still be a wonderful, devoted companion. He will thrive in a predictable, safe environment where he can build confidence and feel secure. Thumper deserves a soft place to land, a cozy spot to curl up, and someone who will remind him every day how loved he truly is. Who will step up to be Thumper’s hero and give this special boy a home? Apply to adopt at arfhamptons.org 💚

Meet Gargoyle, our 2-year-old, 100% certified beefcake with the face of a mythical beast and the personality of a professional goofball. Found as a stray in the August heat, he’s waiting patiently at ARF Hamptons, serving up ridiculous expressions, showing off his tricks, and giving us approximately 47 reasons a day to wonder how this guy is STILL waiting for a home.

And that’s the thing… Even the most unforgettable dogs can get overlooked in a shelter. That’s why we’re thrilled to be part of Rare Breed Dog Treats and Stray Project’s IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE campaign this Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Because whether a dog is found wandering alone or waiting behind a kennel door, being SEEN can change EVERYTHING!

Gargoyle is looking for an adult-only home where he can be your one and only pet. No other animals, just his humans, plenty of affection, and a full-time audience for his nonsense.

Gargoyle has the face and the personality, he just needs the address! Share this beefcake with someone who needs a Gargoyle in their life, and help us get this very good, very goofy boy out of the shelter and into his forever castle. 💚
