K9AID IS RUN BY A SMALL GROUP OF DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS

who between them, have a wealth of experience in the Animal Rescue Industry. The main goal is to help animals in distress through Fundraising & Re-Homing. We do this on behalf of our army of supporters who provide the funds to:

Support a number of shelters/groups around the world by providing a centralised approach to raising funds on their behalf. Provide a platform for promoting rescued animals for adoption around the world. Help dogs rescued from the Illegal Dog Meat Trade in Thailand & street dogs from Romania. boy-1Much of the work is just making things happen, from emergency calls for help, providing funds to pay for medical treatment to arranging the often difficult transport arrangement to get a dog to it’s new home. Having found new homes for over 600 dogs our volunteers have a wealth of experience at re-homing. The challenge in animal welfare is to make things happen, so to steal a saying “Just Do It” (thanks Nike) is the order of the day. You the supporters are always there when a dog is in trouble & really needs a friend, without you nothing happens. K9Aid’s supporters are there to help the small animal rescue groups who get no help from government or major organisations. Right down at street level helping dedicated individuals who are trying to make a difference with little or no support. Dogs don’t choose who rescues them, they just need a real friend. Sometimes animal rescue can seem to be just too big a problem, the numbers of animals that need help never seems to decrease. There is a light at the end of this tunnel, slowly public attitude to animal welfare is changing, even in Asia the young are seeing animals as friends not to be ill treated or as food. The hope is the good work being done by the supporters of K9Aid will be an example to the young so they grow up in world where animals are treated with respect…

Kylie's first vet visit - made possible by her new sponsors!...

Remember little Kylie? she's the sweet 9 year old girl who has spent her entire life at Pat's shelter because nobody ever wanted to adopt her. 😢💔

We recently posted Kylie's story looking for some kind people who wanted to sponsor this little dog, so that Pat had the necessary funds to take her to the vet to get her chronic skin condition assessed treated & properly monitored.

Well, because of your sponsorship donations, Pat was able to take Kylie to the vet this week!

Pat says .. "I've just taken Kylie to the vet clinic. She has several infections and has lots of medication. Without the sponsorship for her it would be impossible to get her treatment. She will need special low fat food which I am happy to give just to see her looking happy and healthy. Thanks so much to her sponsors for helping!"

K9Aid's Sterilization Program continues in Nepal...

We applaud TFC's team for making the effort to undertake this program in communities who have suffered greatly. K9Aid also thanks our amazing donors who helped make this happen!

K9Aid have partnered with local rescue organisation TFC Nepal, to sterilize as many street & local dogs as possible. During TFC's rescue mission during the recent Flooding tragedy, the team came across many vulnerable dogs living in flood affected areas. They realised that these regions would deeply benefit from a Sterilization program, to help prevent future suffering and unwanted litters of puppies.

Here is an update from Tula at TFC Nepal..

"During our sterilization mission, we have received many requests to help animals in different areas, with a special focus on spaying female dogs. Today, we continued our efforts in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, sterilizing 10 dogs and 5 cats (4 females and 1 male).
Along with sterilization, we also provided Rabies and Distemper vaccinations to help protect these animals.

A heartfelt thank you to all the animal lovers who lovingly feed and care for street dogs in their own communities. Your kindness reminds us that animal welfare is not possible through an organization alone—it takes a community working together.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported TFC Nepal and helped us reach this point. Special thanks to K9Aid International for collaborating with us on our ongoing efforts, including support for animals in flood-affected areas.

This beautiful boy's name is Agoraki & he's 5 years old. He was found on the Greek island of Corfu by local rescuer Amber Swanink when he was 10 weeks old. Amber found Agoraki & his sister in the middle of nowhere, under an olive tree.

Amber has looked after both dogs ever since she found them, as they are very frightened of most people (due to not interacting with humans early in life) & therefore very difficult to find a home for.

A few weeks ago Amber was letting the dogs run & play when Agoraki unexpectedly encountered a mother pig who charged at him and punctured his lung! Agoraki needed urgent surgery to save his life. The vet told amber that if the puncture wound had been a tiny bit deeper or in a slightly different place, he would definitely have died. It's a miracle he's even alive!

Amber has asked for our help to pay for Agoraki's medical care, so we agreed to try and help.

Rescuers like Amber often end up caring for dogs like Agoraki & his sister because there is nowhere else for them to go. These people are often not well off, they just care about animals. Please if you'd like to help Amber ensure Agoraki receives the best care after this horrible incident, please leave a donation. Thank you.

This story comes to us from our wonderful friends at Sava's Safe Haven Dog Shelter in Galati, Romania.

Alexandra from Sava's tells us Hope's shocking story...

"We found this little girl in the middle of nowhere, with the nearest house around 5kms away. She was wearing a harness and had a microchip, but sadly, the chip was never registered. She was neglected, her coat severely matted, and at just 6kg, she was carrying an enormous, heavy tumour that she could barely drag behind her.

We can only imagine what this poor girl has been through. We suspect she may have been used for breeding, treated as nothing more than a puppy-producing machine, and abandoned when she was no longer able to produce puppies.

We rescued her, hoping to give her a chance at a better life. But what we discovered left us heartbroken.

She will need several surgeries. So far, we have managed to remove the entire mammary chain on her left side. Once she has recovered sufficiently, she will need another major operation to remove the mammary chain on the other side.

Sadly, because her microchip was never registered, we have no way of knowing who she belonged to or who could have subjected her to such neglect.

We may never know her full story. We may never know how long she suffered or why nobody helped her sooner.

But we know one thing: her past will not define her future. She is safe now. She is receiving the care she desperately needs, and we will do everything we can to give her the chance she deserves. Her recovery will be long, and there is still a difficult road ahead. But she is no longer alone. ❤️

Please keep this brave little girl in your thoughts as she begins her journey towards healing.

K9Aid's Sterilization Program gets underway in Nepal...

K9Aid have partnered with local rescue organisation TFC Nepal, to sterilize as many street dogs as possible. During TFC's rescue mission during the recent Flooding tragedy, the team came across many vulnerable street dogs living in the towns of Devighat, Trishuili & other flood affected areas. They realised that these regions would deeply benefit from a Sterilization program, to help prevent future suffering and unwanted litters of puppies.

Yesterday the TFC Team began this Program, bringing their first batch of 14 dogs to the capital Kathmandu for sterilizing. In the remote villages where these dogs live there are no proper veterinary facilities, so doing the surgeries in Kathmandu will ensure each sterilization is professionally done safely & effectively and all dogs will receive the best possible care. .

This is just the beginning! This mission will continue as sterilization is a crucial step toward reducing overpopulation and preventing the suffering of countless animals. Their aim is to sterilize as many dogs as possible.

Dik's survived a horrifying accident with a lawn mower - we have $290 left to raise for her medical care...

Meet Dik, a sweet one-year-old stray dog from Cha-am, Thailand who recently survived a horrifying accident after both of her front legs were severely injured by a lawnmower.

One of her legs was successfully sutured, while the other must remain open to heal naturally over the next month. She is currently on medication to manage her pain and prevent infection.

Dik has a long journey to recovery ahead, but with time, care, and proper medical support, we are hopeful she will make an excellent recovery.

This case comes to us from Thai rescuer Oranuch, whom we know will ensure Dik is given the best opportunity to find a home after she completely heals.

Please help us raise the $600 needed to provide Dik with the full medical care she needs. We have $290 left to raise.

One of our recent Food Aid recipients was the elderly dogs who live at Street Animal Project Pattaya's Retirement Home for Dogs - GOLDEN PAWS PATTAYA.

This little shelter is home to old dogs who have virtually no chance of adoption and is run by Pat Adamson who just wants to give these dogs a safe, comfortable & happy place to call home. Pat says "Our little residents count on us to make sure they are safe, healthy, and happy. And the best moment of the day? Seeing everyone with a full tummy, a happy heart, and a wagging tail. ❤️".

K9Aid's Food Program was recently able to include Golden Paws in our monthly food distribution and it is heart warming to see the dogs so well fed & cared for.

This little dog's story is incredibly sad and we are determined to help this dear little soul.

Last week, Tamara who runs Thai Street Paws Rescue in Songkhla, Thailand received a phone call from someone who told her about Brady. Apparently he had an owner and after being hit by a car & unable to walk, the owner tried to help him with home made rubber "braces" with cable ties tied to his legs! Tamara told us .. "I almost died when I received the photo of Brady in these braces, I couldn’t stop crying. I asked them to take him to the clinic immediately. Despite me offering to cover all the expenses, the owner wasn't sure if he would take him to the clinic! Thankfully one of my amazing staff persuaded them. He arrived at the clinic in a plastic container and told the staff they didn’t want him any longer!"

It turned out this injury happened 2 months ago!. He has a complete fracture of the spine in the T13-L1 region. & unfortunately due to this happening months ago, spinal surgery is unlikely to be successful & Brady will be permanently disabled.

We desperately want to help Brady get all the medical care he needs. There will be lots of ongoing expenses for Brady, so we'd dearly love to find him some monthly sponsors.

Ideally Brady would benefit from a being accepted into a loving home or even a foster home, as a shelter is not the best place for a disabled dog. Please, please share Brady and let's help Tamara find a special person to care for him.

It's so sad that nobody wants to sponsor Mummy for the short time she has left 😢...

We are still looking for some kind supporters who would like to sponsor this 10 year old girl who lives at Headrock Dog Rescue Shelter in Thailand, who is about to have a leg amputated. Mummy has a nasty form of skin cancer slowly spreading over her body. Tumors on her back leg are untreatable and the only option is unfortunately to remove her leg.

Shelter owner Verity took this video yesterday prior to surgery when she visited Mummy. She says

" I hope this video will touch your hearts, it almost broke mine. When I saw Mummy huddled up in the corner of her hospital cage. Her back was turned against the world with the new blood going into her veins ,I couldn't hold back my tears. It completely broke me cos I know tomorrow she'll only have one back leg.

She was shivering. This cold hospital room feels so unnatural and overwhelming for a dog who has known only the outside world her whole life. The vet immediately wrapped her in two thick blankets, giving her comfort against the chill. I stayed by her side for as long as I could, stroking her gently and whispering to her to be strong, to be brave. I don't know how much she understood, but through her sadness she wagged her tail. Her fragile body and quiet vulnerability completely broke my heart. If you can feel her fear and sadness right now, please keep her in your thoughts."

Verity thinks (even with surgery) Mummy will only be with us for another 6 months or so. Verity desperately wants to give Mummy the best possible care & lots of love for the short time she likely has left. Therefore we'd love to get Mummy some sponsors so that Verity has a monthly amount available to make Mummy as happy and comfortable as possible.
