Walls Project’s Mural #241 at Roshni, Step into the Light is about much more than adding color to a wall. It is about investing in a community with incredible cultural diversity, creativity, history, and potential.
Located along East Colfax Ave. within the ACAD, Roshni sits along one of Aurora’s most visible and culturally rich corridors. Public art has the power to change how we experience a place: creating landmarks, celebrating identity, strengthening belonging, supporting artists, and signaling that a neighborhood is worthy of continued investment.
We were incredibly fortunate to have ONECHO aka Juancho bring his talent and vision to this project. His work celebrates the people Roshni has cherished since its opening.His tireless work throughout the process and his commitment to the volunteers was endearing and uplifting.
A huge thank you to Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation for funding this project and believing that vibrant, welcoming places are part of building healthy communities.
And thank you to Eide Bailly and the many volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped bring this mural to life at Roshni. This is what we love most about public art: the final mural may belong to an artist, but the process of creating it can belong to an entire community.
