We are just a few days away from the 4th Annual Peer Workforce Collaborative! Join us on April 20th and 21st

Registration required: http://res-co.org/Peer-Workforce

Whether you are newer to peer support or a seasoned leader, this event is designed to strengthen your confidence, deepen your understanding of complex issues, and offer practical tools you can bring back to your work, teams, programs, and communities. This event welcomes all types of peers, including those working in mental health, substance use, and co‑occurring support, to learn, grow, and connect side by side.

This free virtual event brings together peer professionals from across Colorado for interactive workshops, embodied practices, and rich dialogue about what it really means to show up in this work. You can earn up to 9 CEU hours* while deepening your skills, expanding your network, and reconnecting with your “why” in recovery-centered work.

The Peer Workforce Collaborative is proudly sponsored by the Colorado Providers Association (COPA), emphasizing a shared commitment to a strong, skilled, and supported peer workforce across the state. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available during the entire event.

The full session schedule is posted on the Event Page, which is available after registration.

Register and add it to your calendar so you're set to join us on April 20th & 21st. Invite your colleagues, supervisors, and peer teams to attend with you so you can learn and implement together.

The heart of our work here at Resilient Colorado is building resilient trauma informed communities. We know that meaningful support for youth happens when systems, providers, and community partners work together with shared purpose. We appreciated the chance to connect with professionals who are committed to creating more compassionate pathways for youth and families. Thank you to The Juvenile Assessment Center - The JAC for having us!

We’re excited to announce that Missy will be facilitating a new training for Resilient Colorado on HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences). Join us on February 23rd — register here http://res-co.org/feb-23

HOPE is an intentional shift in how we orient to experiences that build health and well-being. This interactive training explores how Positive Experiences shape lifelong well-being and buffer against the impact of Adverse Experiences. While much of the conversation focuses on supporting young people, emerging research shows these principles apply across the lifespan. Participants will learn practical ways to help people of all ages thrive and build resilience in the face of challenges.

Participants will gain a conceptual framework for:
Recognizing and creating opportunities to strengthen resilience
Applying strength-based approaches in place of deficit-focused thinking
Integrating the Four Building Blocks of HOPE into daily practice

When: February 23, 2026, 11:30am–1:30pm MST
Where: Free, online via Zoom

Life gets stressful, and unless you’re going to live life in a bubble, there’s no escaping stress. Things are going to worry you, scare you, upset you… You need to feel all of these things, proportionately of course, and be able to hold space for them.

This is the art of resilience, and of growing capacity, which comes as you regulate your nervous system.

We are so grateful to share that Resilient Colorado has brought on another staff member. Meet our new Senior Training Specialist, Missy Berglund 🥳

Missy (she/her) brings over 20 years of experience in local and national child welfare, treatment, and prevention programs. She specializes in facilitation, coaching, and consultation for strengthening systems, building capacity, and improving outcomes for children and families. This includes curriculum development, training, project management, strategic planning, and implementation. All of her work is grounded in building Protective Factors and the principles of HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences), a framework that focuses on what helps people heal and thrive.

Passionate about shifting focus from deficit-based thinking to strength-based approaches, Missy helps build the conditions for equitable and positive outcomes for children, families, and communities. Missy believes everyone deserves a village. She's committed to building communities where people have others walking with them through both joys and challenges.

Communities across the country are navigating waves of crisis and uncertainty. This ongoing stress is affecting families, workplaces, and communities. Many of us are experiencing sustained trauma responses and the exhaustion that comes from one incident after another without relief.

Whether you're a helping professional trying to show up for others while managing your own distress, or a community member seeking concrete tools to stay grounded, you're not alone in feeling dysregulated and uncertain about what to do next.

In response to immediate needs voiced by therapists, healers, and community members, Resilient Colorado is offering 2 free support sessions designed for these moments when we need directives more than processing, and containers more than conversation.

These are peer-led gatherings that provide practical tools for nervous system regulation during ongoing stress. We'll explore frameworks for understanding disaster phases and identify clear pathways for showing up in collective response without burning out.
