Family Freedom Center seeks to empower the Black community by reconstructing socio-cultural narratives and unapologetically embracing what it means to be Black, both historically and present day. Family Freedom Center will do this by exploring alternative means of education and providing resources that bridge the gap between community and students. This bridge will engage members of the organizati

on with love, respect, guidance, knowledge, and pride. Family Freedom Center will foster positive change in various systemic landscapes that directly impact the Black community while being inclusive to the Duluth community at large.

Meet Family Freedom Center’s Voter Engagement Team, led by Tamara Prather!

This team works on the ground to help our community understand the issues, learn about candidates, register to vote, find polling locations, and use our collective voice. Their work continues beyond Election Day as we organize around community priorities and help Black residents move into the public spaces and positions where decisions are made.

Today is Minnesota’s Primary Election. Polls are open until 8 p.m., and Minnesota allows same-day voter registration.

Our votes carry our voices, our priorities, and our power. Get to the polls and bring somebody with you!
