When young people move into their first apartment they need a supportive person to answer questions and offer guidance. "What is rental insurance? What do I do if I want to get a pet? Where can I turn if I lose my job and have a hard time paying rent?" Our Housing Case Managers are there to offer support, help build community, and ensure a successful transition. In 1991, a mother in Duluth learned her son's friend was experiencing homelessness. She quickly realized there was a significant need for youth-specific resources in our area and founded Life House.

It was her vision was that no youth would be left homeless, alone, uncared for, or fending for themselves.

From the very first youth identified by our founder to the 750+ youth we now serve annually, Life House has grown and evolved over 35 years to fulfill this vision.

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating more than 20 young people and the milestones they’ve reached.

From earning a GED, landing a job, securing stable housing, and reaching wellness and sobriety goals, each achievement is worthy of celebration!

We are so proud to be a part of youth's story on their journey to stability.

May is Mental Health Awareness month and Life House is here to support youth and their wellbeing.

There are so many aspects that impact mental health, and our wraparound services help to address any challenges and barriers to wellness. Building a community of support is the first step!

We also have free mental health care, including talk therapy, substance use counseling, case management, parenting support, and more.
