We honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and remember the families whose lives were forever changed. We honor the firefighters, police officers, emergency personnel, military members, and ordinary Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable circumstances. Today is about more than remembering where we were. It is about remembering who we are—and the responsibility we share to honor those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who continue to serve.
