OAJ Leadership Spotlight: Craig Tuttle, Medical Negligence Section Chair

A partner at Leeseberg Tuttle and an OAJ board member, Craig Tuttle is an esteemed attorney that litigates medical malpractice, legal malpractice, complex personal injury, and wrongful death claims across Ohio.

Craig has served as OAJ's Medical Negligence Section Chair since 2022. As Chair, Craig leads a section built for the realities of medical negligence practice: navigating legislative and case-law obstacles to recovery, mastering the medicine behind every case, and connecting members with the expert witnesses and case-valuation feedback these cases demand. The section pairs an active listserv with CLE and networking. Craig has contributed to that knowledge base directly, authoring "Building Your Own Expert Witness Databank" for the section.

Two things OAJ paralegals tell us matter most to them: staying sharp and staying connected. The OAJ Paralegal Convention is built around both.

Paralegal Section Chair Renee Hatton of Colombo Lawputs it well: "Each year I leave with new skills, fresh perspectives, and a network of colleagues who genuinely support one another's success."

Expect nationally recognized speakers, credit toward the Ohio Bar Certified Paralegal Program, and for registered attendees, an Appreciation Dinner the evening before to connect with peers from across the state.

Just as OAJ members advocate for a fair civil justice system, we have a part to play in this election. Like our civil justice system, elections are how our country, state, and communities resolve differences and give the public the final say. Ohio's voter registration deadline is October 5. Register to vote or update your voter information here: https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/

For more voting information and ways to get involved, visit oajustice.org/oajvotes, where you'll find resources to share with your colleagues, staff, clients, friends, and family.

OAJ Leadership Spotlight: James Zink, Workers' Compensation Section Chair

A partner at Nager Romaine Schneiberg NRS Injury Law and a dedicated advocate for injured workers, James Zink practices workers' compensation law at one of Ohio's largest firms in the field. As Chair of OAJ's Workers' Compensation Section, James helps lead a member community focused on the issues shaping injured-worker representation across the state. The section connects attorneys through CLE programming, shared strategy, and colleague-to-colleague problem solving. James has brought that same commitment to the podium as an OAJ presenter, including his CLE "Pre-Existing Psychological Issues in a Post-Accident World" with Dr. Patrick Yingling.

On choosing this area of practice, James said: “In every role I’ve had, I’ve sought to make my job one of service and one of helping others.”
