Lexi and Nick are thriving ✨

With the love and support of their parents Matt and Laurene they’ve celebrated many exciting milestones lately. Lexi graduated from college and completed an internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando! 🎓 Nick is also a recent graduate, and was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership award at his school ❤️

After being adopted at ages 14 and 15, their stories changed for the better, and today, both siblings are dreaming of the future with the support of their family every step of the way!

“As a child, I always felt different. I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I always wanted to look like someone else. I didn’t realize I had yet to discover something that would change my life forever and change my perception of my identity.” — Ricky Watters

Ricky Watters is a former NFL player whose incredible life story was shaped in part by his personal experience as an adoptee ♥️ He delivered the closing keynote speech of our 2026 Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Summit. He shared how discovering he was adopted impacted his life as he worked to achieve his wildest dreams by becoming a Super Bowl Champion, adoption advocate and author.

For a child in foster care, “tomorrow” is never certain. Yesterday, more than 50 young people in the United States aged out of foster care with no permanent home. It will happen again today, and again tomorrow. Left to navigate adulthood alone, these children are at a much higher risk of negative outcomes, such as homelessness and unemployment 💔
