Lovely to see Blue Bird, designed by Phillipa Turnbull, featured by the Embroiderers’ Guild of America as part of their 2027 Virtual Lecture Annual Pass announcement.

The design appears in 'Crewelwork Then & Now', the joint book by Hazel Blomkamp's Fine Needlecraft and Phillipa Turnbull, alongside many other beautiful designs exploring the rich history and contemporary possibilities of crewelwork.

Hi Folks!
It’s always lovely to write to you, and I’m delighted to have some exciting news to share.

I’ve had a wonderfully busy time lately and have been extremely fortunate to have one of my designs accepted for publication in Inspirations Magazine. The latest issue, No. 131, features my Jacobean Dragonfly.

As part of preparing the design for publication, the magazine also arranged an interview and podcast with Fiber Talk, in association with the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. During the conversation, we talk about the Jacobean Dragonfly design, the inspiration behind it, and the enduring influence of Jacobean-style embroidery.

Fabulous to see this finish of the Fantail Piwakawaka Etui by Mercia Dryburgh in New Zealand! Hasn't she done a beautiful job.

The fantail has a space for needles in the tail and under the wings and a blade for cutting threads in the bronze beak.

If you are waiting for a fantail kit, we are just waiting on delivery of one special thread to allow us to complete the kits.
