The Downingtown Community Education Foundation is dedicated to supporting innovation in education, inspiring children to enrich our community. DCEF was formed to provide the funding necessary to be certain that the Downingtown Area School District’s long history of excellence in education continues for all children.

Big smiles, curious minds, and the start of something special. 💙💛

Across the Downingtown Area School District, incoming kindergarteners are participating in DCEF's Kindergarten JumpStart program. Throughout July and August, students explore their new classrooms, meet teachers and classmates, practice daily routines, and build confidence before the first day of school.

We're proud to help support these first steps into kindergarten and wish every student a wonderful year ahead! 🍎📚

Another wonderful summer of DCEF's Mobile Book Club is in the books! 📚🚌

Throughout the summer, students climbed aboard the Mobile Innovation Lab to enjoy engaging stories, thoughtful conversations, creative activities, and a brand-new book to take home after every session.

A special thank you to DASD Literacy Specialist Ms. Eileen Kroboth, who generously volunteers her time each year to make this program possible, as well as the guest readers who helped make each visit even more memorable.

Thank you to all of the students and families who joined us this summer—we can't wait to hit the road again next year! 💙💛

As another group of students begins Kindergarten JumpStart this summer, we're excited to share a look at what awaits them in kindergarten classrooms across DASD.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, DCEF helped provide Purposeful Play materials for every kindergarten classroom when the district transitioned to full-day kindergarten. This video, created by DASD this spring, shows the impact those resources are already having on students' learning, curiosity, and confidence.

A special thank you to the Downingtown Area School District for creating and sharing this video—and for partnering with us to help every child start strong.

💙 Thank You, CCRES! 💛

We're grateful to CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services for their generous grant in support of Kindergarten JumpStart, helping ensure incoming kindergarten students begin the school year with confidence.

Kindergarten JumpStart gives students the opportunity to meet teachers, become familiar with school routines, and build new friendships before the first day of school—helping make the transition into kindergarten a positive one.

Programs are taking place at elementary schools across the Downingtown Area School District throughout the summer, and we're thankful to CCRES for helping make this important program possible.

This week, we wrapped up another incredible summer of DCEF Camp! ☀️

Over the past six weeks, hundreds of students explored new interests, built new skills, made new friends, and created memories that will last long after summer ends. None of it would be possible without the many people who work behind the scenes to make camp a success.

A heartfelt thank you to Downingtown Middle School, Dr. Nicholas Indeglio, Cara Smith, and the entire DASD Facilities Team for welcoming us and helping everything run smoothly throughout the summer.

A special thank you to Jacqui McCalla, who generously volunteered all six weeks of camp to assist with check-in and support our families each day. Your dedication made a difference from the very first morning to the very last.

And thank you to our outstanding DASD teachers and support staff, whose creativity, energy, and care made every camp experience exciting, engaging, and memorable for our students.

Thank you to everyone who helped make DCEF Camp 2026 such a success. We can't wait to do it again next summer! 💙💛
