I’ve posted this same sentiment since I joined social media 14 or so years ago and I wrote it before that for a memorial service. The sentiment is the same and I still feel just as strongly now as I did then. The death toll is higher now with the ongoing health issues for so many of our first responders.
On this date 22 years ago, the most heinous attacks were let loose against our Country. These attacks struck every American to the very core of their being. The horror, the betrayal, the anger and the sorrow when 2996 people died in these attacks. Take some time today 1 second per person, 50 minutes throughout your day to reflect on those who lost their lives and those who continue to lose their lives in the diseases are afflicting the first responders. Think about the loved ones and friends who were left behind who still have gaping holes in their hearts and their souls and their lives. Take some of that time to remember the first responders both two legged and four legged, who selflessly rushed in to help; take time to say a little prayer for their health and their psyche; take time to think of our troops still fighting this war – our war and thank them; take time today to remember them, to remember how you felt this day 22 years ago – take time today to remember to Never Forget.
