☀️ Summer of Service ☀️

We’ve been busy lately ensuring that those in need are off to a great summer — and we couldn’t be more proud of what our community has accomplished together!

Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

⛺ Paid for two kids to attend Summer Camp
🫡 Held monthly VA Game Nights
🥫 Secured food for families in need
👕 Provided clothing to children
🏊 Hosted a pool day for CYWA shelter families at Marsh Creek
🏠 Helped a single father outfit his new apartment
🛋️ Coordinated furniture & bedding for families in need

Every act of service — big or small — makes a difference. Thank you to everyone who showed up, gave, and made this summer brighter for those who needed it most. 💛

Thanks to the David Gallagher Do Good Foundation and Downingtown West Booster Club we will have these warm blankets to share with those in need this winter!

The West Booster Club asked spectators of the Downingtown West/Bishop Shanahan boys lacrosse game to bring a warm blanket to donate upon entry. During this special game, a scholarship in memory of David Gallagher was announced.

It is donations and collaborations like this that remind us that ‘every hand counts’.

The US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly has issued a Heat Advisory for Chester County from 11:00 AM today, Thursday, June 11, 2026 to 8:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2026, due to forecasted heat index values up to 104 degrees expected throughout the region.

‼️We Need You‼️
We have a single Dad coming out of homelessness with his three sons. They have nothing and get an apartment next week. We are so happy for them and would love to bless them with beds and essentials for the apartment. No donation is too small. We will take all donations and purchase as much as we can to make it a home🙏

A huge thank you to kids at Rainbow Elementary School for making 150 handmade cards for the Shar’s Hands team to pass out during our upcoming Veterans BBQ! The messages the kids wrote are beautiful 💙❤️. It’s always been our mission to involve children in giving back to their community.
