In just 3 weeks, Jack and Monica will embark on the first of two back to back fundraising rides. The Official Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) was started in 1989 and has grown to accomodate 3000 riders from around the world. We will be making a 400 mile loop around OH and are expecially excited to be in Ashland, Ohio for Ashland BalloonFest.

Less than 3 weeks after completing GOBA we will be heading to Iowa for the 53rd annual RAGBRAI another 400 mile ride across the state which brings 20,000 riders together. We are wondering how many porta potties this many riders hydrating in the scorching Iowa sun require.

It's that time again...when Jack and Monica ride a whole lot of miles in the hopes of raising lots of money in order to purchase recumbent trikes to bring freedom and independence to people with Spinocerebellar Ataxia living in the US.
Our first ride this season, The Official Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) will take us 475 miles around OH June 19-27. If you live nearby any of these routes, please come out and cheer us on or, better yet, sign up to ride with us.

Meet Cayla, trike recipient from Malden MA, and her husband, Brian, who adapt to places that are not accessible with an old fashioned piggy back ride.

Cayla, 37, has CANVAS (Cerebellar Ataxia, Neuropathy, and Vestibular Areflexia), a rarer form of an already rare disease. Typically diagnosed in late middle age, Cayla was diagnosed at age 30, just as she and HS sweetheart, Brian, were getting married.

This weekend, while Brian travels to the Netherlands playing with the band Flying Vipers, we know Cayla will be working on her freedom and independence.

Meet Ryan, 33, from Jacksonville. He has SCA 8 which he inherited from his dad. Ryan played basketball until his freshman year in HS when he was diagnosed. Now he plans on riding his Catrike Villager, which he has named "Blue Thunder", with his mom, Wendy Conrad Everts. Bicycles Etc. Jacksonville, Florida got Ryan fitted on his trike and got Wendy set up with this new pink bike, which is without a name. She is open to suggestions. Our vote is "Pink Flamingo." Please add yours in the comments.

It was so rewarding presenting Ryan with his Catrike Villager at the National Ataxia Foundation's Annual Conference. This is made possible only by the generosity of our donors. Thank you all!

In just 4 days, National Ataxia Foundation member, Lindy Bergeron , our trike recipient from Inverness FL, has put an impressive 19 miles on her new Catrike Villager. Lindy's granddaughter is especially excited to be riding right alongside her grandma.

Lindy, 46, knows Spinocerebellar Ataxia all too well. Her grandmother, mother, and 2 sisters all had SCA 2. One sister stayed in bed much of the time after her diagnosis until she died at 54. Lindy has made a comittment to remain active for as long as she can.

Help us help others like Lindy.
