Global Ties Detroit was honored to host the incredible Entrepreneurship and Small Business Delegation from Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Morocco, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Togo, and Zimbabwe 🌍

During their visit, delegates explored topics like financing opportunities, e-commerce, and strategies to support small business growth while learning about the broader economic and social factors shaping entrepreneurship in the United States 💼📈

A warm Detroit welcome to our 2026 YLAI Fellows! 💙🌎✨

The Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative - YLAI program, we’re proud to be hosting 14 inspiring entrepreneurs from Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Grenadines, Guatamala, Mexico, Paraguay, and Trinidad and Tobago.🌴🌍 for a four-week fellowship focused on leadership, collaboration, and cultural exchange in partnership with IREX.🤝📈

We kicked things off with orientation 📚 and a welcome luncheon at TechTown Detroit 🍽️, followed by an insightful walking tour led by City Institute 🚶‍♀️🏙️ From here, fellows will engage with local businesses, organizations, and communities—building connections that will last far beyond their time in Detroit 💡🌐

GTD is proud to welcome our Legacy International PFP MENA Fellows from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia🌍🇩🇿🇪🇬🇲🇦🇹🇳

Over the weekend, the fellows kicked off their experience with orientation at Bamboo Royal Oak 🏢, followed by a warm welcome brunch hosted by board member and International Strategic Management, Inc founder Faris Alami فَارِس ألعَلَمِي and his family 🍽️🤝. They also enjoyed an engaging tour of Detroit 🚍 guided by City Institute, where they explored the city’s rich history, culture, and ongoing revitalization. 🏙️📚

We’re excited to see them begin their four-week fellowships and can’t wait for the impact this incredible cohort will make ✨

This group includes professionals from Brazil, Chile, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Thailand, and Zambia, visiting through the U.S. Energy Policy – Security, Independence, and Innovation program. During their time in the U.S., they are exploring how energy policy supports global stability, economic growth, and innovation.

From December 9–14, we will host eight leaders in economic trade and security management as they explore Southeast Michigan’s best practices in foreign investment, public-private collaboration, and innovation-driven growth.

Reducing Barriers to U.S. Exports 📈 | Bangladesh

We are also excited to welcome eight experts in economic trade and investment from Bangladesh as they meet with U.S. businesses and institutions to strengthen export opportunities, highlight U.S. investment promotion, and deepen U.S.–Bangladesh trade ties.
