🌎 Welcome an International Delegation to Metro Detroit from Indonesia! 🇮🇩

From September 1–7, we’ll be hosting an IVLP delegation of five interfaith organization directors and religious leaders from Indonesia as part of a project focused on Defending Religious Freedom.

During their visit, the delegates will meet with Metro Detroit governmental and legal offices, worship centers, and public institutions to learn about local protections for religious rights and the role of faith communities and American leadership in advancing religious liberty.

🏡 We’re looking for a local volunteer to host a home hospitality dinner for all five delegates plus one interpreter on:

📅 Saturday, September 5
or
📅 Sunday, September 6

This is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal, welcome international guests into our community, and build connections across cultures and faith traditions. ❤️

These students are visiting through a Wayne State University Office of International Programs sustainability exchange program, where they're exploring sustainability, innovation, and community engagement.🌎🤝

🌎🤝 Creating connections through hospitality and cultural exchange.

Global Ties Detroit was honored to support Wayne State University Office of International Programs in providing hospitality dinners for 25 university and professional students from Iraq participating in the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP).

These gatherings offered participants the opportunity to connect with Detroit community members, share stories, and experience the warmth of our community through meaningful conversations and cultural exchange. 🍽️✨

This week, these emerging leaders will explore how Detroit's innovation ecosystem—bringing together government, industry, investors, universities, and startup accelerators—drives economic growth and strengthens U.S.-Japan partnerships. 🚀

We're honored to host this delagation and can't wait to share the best of Detroit. Welcome to the Motor City! 💙 Thank you to everyone who are taking the time to meet with this delegation!
