SVdP Detroit is more than a workplace.

It's a community of people who believe neighbors should help neighbors and show up every day to make that happen.

We are proud to announce the official opening of our Community Market!

On May 20th, we gathered with community leaders and partners to mark this milestone, and we were honored by the support and excitement from our community.

The Community Market allows neighbors to select the food they need, on their own terms, with dignity and choice built into every part of the experience.

The Market currently serves our existing SVdP Detroit neighbors, and we are working to expand appointments and access throughout the summer. Keep an eye on our website for updates.

SVdP Detroit is hiring and we're looking for people who want to do more than just fill a role.

As one of Metro Detroit's established Catholic nonprofits, we've been preventing homelessness, fighting hunger, and changing lives since 1884. The work is meaningful, the community is genuine, and the mission is clear.

We currently have open positions across our operations. If you or someone in your network is looking for work that connects day-to-day responsibilities to real community impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Access to food should come with dignity and choice.

SVdP Detroit's Community Market gives neighbors the ability to select the foods that fit their families: fresh produce, pantry essentials, and more, at no cost.

It's a model built on respect. And it's part of a broader effort to address food insecurity across Metro Detroit in a way that treats every neighbor as exactly that: a neighbor.

Thank you Christian Financial Credit Union for your generous support of many of our programs, including Camp Ozanam!

On Tuesday, the Christian Financial Outreach & Impact Foundation had the true privilege of spending time with the incredible team at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit. 💙

We were honored to present a $3,000 grant in support of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit Camps Camp Ozanam—an inspiring program that opens the door to life-changing experiences for so many young people.

Camp Ozanam offers a 100% free overnight summer camp for children whose families are facing financial hardships, those in foster care, and kids navigating the loss of a loved one. Through outdoor adventures like swimming, sports, arts and crafts, team-building, and more, campers are given the chance to just be kids—building confidence, friendships, and lasting memories in a safe, supportive environment.

We are deeply grateful for the work being done by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit. Their dedication to uplifting and empowering youth through transformative experiences is truly remarkable.
It’s an honor to support a mission that nurtures personal growth, connection to nature, and strong, resilient futures.
