Y’all may or may not remember that after first card marking this school year, we had to place one of our youth at the JBWC foster home on punishment by taking away his electronics. He was blowing it academically. Smart young man, but he had settled for summer school and was using his ADHD diagnosis and other excuses as reasons to give up.
Well, through mentoring, accountability, exposure, and PRESSURE… guess who is walking the stage today? And guess who is headed off to Oakland University this fall?
I want us to remember that there were many entities and people involved in planting seeds into this young man’s life. It takes a village. If we all do our parts, no matter how big or small, true impact is possible.
