Uncork Up North in the news! 🗞️🩷 Big thanks for the feature — we can’t wait to bring our mission back to Traverse City this fall.

“The Dynami Foundation announced the return of its fourth annual Uncork Up North event, set for Friday, Oct. 2, at the Hagerty Garage.

This event will benefit Munson Health care’s Cowell Family Cancer Center Fund, providing support to Northern Michigan women facing financial hardship during breast cancer treatment.

The event brings together Northern Michigan’s culinary and wine community for the cause.”

The $50,000 grant was awarded to Shoshana Rosenzweig, MD, a radiation oncology resident and clinical researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, for research focused on improving long-term outcomes and treatment personalization for patients diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer.

Extraordinary culinary experiences have been at the heart of our fundraising events for 11 years—and this year is no exception.

Our chef lineup for Uncork for a Cure and Uncork Up North will feature some of the most talented chefs from across Metro Detroit and Traverse City, coming together to support a cause that matters deeply: advancing breast cancer research.

Today marks a historic moment for invasive lobular breast cancer research.

For the first time in the United States, leading scientists and institutions have officially united to launch the Lobular American Research Consortium (LARC) — the first coordinated national scientific consortium dedicated exclusively to invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC). https://www.larc-ilc.org/home

Although ILC affects up to 15–20% of breast cancer patients, it has historically received less than 1% of dedicated research funding.

Supported by $250,000 in catalytic seed funding from The Dynami Foundation, LARC will unite leading researchers and cancer centers across the United States and Canada to accelerate collaboration, discovery, and progress for patients living with lobular breast cancer.

This milestone was built through years of support from survivors, donors, volunteers, researchers, sponsors, advocates, chefs, wine partners, and an incredible community that believed this disease deserved more.

This is more than an announcement.

It is proof that collective impact matters.
It is proof that advocacy matters and our collective voices matter �It is proof that what began as a small idea years ago in Detroit can help create change.

An amazing group of SURVIVORS from last year’s Uncork Up North 💖 each with a story, each a reminder of why we gather. Breast cancer affects 1 in 20 women worldwide, with over 2.3 million diagnoses each year, touching far too many lives in ways both seen and unseen.

Now in our 11th year of fundraising, our momentum hasn’t slowed—it’s grown stronger, fueled by resilience, community, and the unwavering belief that together, we can make a difference.
