Meet Chef Kemp alongside some of Northern Michigan’s finest culinary talent on October 2nd. 💖

Chef Kemp currently serves as Director of Culinary Innovation for meal-kit company Blue Apron and is the proprietor of Allium Hill, a food-focused luxury farm stay and vineyard in Leelanau County. A graduate of the renowned Culinary Institute of America, he honed his craft in some of New York City’s most celebrated fine-dining kitchens, including Thomas Keller’s Per Se, before spending nearly a decade as a private chef to a high-profile clientele.

His cooking spans cuisines and is rooted in fine-dining technique, modern creativity and a deep appreciation for seasonal ingredients—especially those that are locally grown, raised and foraged.

A restaurant that needs no introduction. 🫶🏼

Meet the chefs behind The Cooks' House Jennifer Blakeslee and Eric Patterson, joining us at Uncork Up North.

Jennifer grew up in Traverse City before spending nearly 30 years living and cooking in Chicago, Denver and Las Vegas, where she and Eric first worked together in some of the city's most acclaimed Michelin-starred kitchens, including under legendary French chef André Rochat. Eric, who grew up in Kansas, joined Jennifer in making the move to Northern Michigan to bring their shared vision to life: a restaurant rooted in the incredible bounty of the region.

At The Cooks' House, every dish begins with exceptional local ingredients. Eric's refined, ingredient-driven approach is complemented by Jennifer's bold global influences, shaped by her travels through India, Mexico and Southeast Asia. Together, they've created one of the Midwest's most celebrated farm-to-table dining destinations.

Beyond the restaurant, they're passionate educators, hosting cooking classes that celebrate regional cuisine, seasonal ingredients and the artistry of local food.

Now in its 11th year, Uncork for a Cure marks the start of a new decade in the fight against Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC)—one of the most underdiagnosed and underfunded forms of breast cancer.

This October, we'll return to M1 Concourse for an unforgettable evening featuring Detroit's award-winning chefs and an exceptional wine program led by Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon alongside a distinguished team of wine professionals.
ILC accounts for up to 15% of all breast cancer diagnoses, yet receives less than 1% of dedicated research funding. Every dollar raised helps advance the research that will change lives.

Big news for the future of lobular breast cancer research.

We're proud to welcome the University of Michigan to the Lobular American Research Consortium (LARC), strengthening a growing national network of leading institutions dedicated to advancing research in Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC).

Led by Dr. Lori Pierce, alongside Dr. Ameer Elaimy and Dr. James Rae, the University of Michigan team brings world-class expertise that will help accelerate discoveries, expand collaboration, and improve outcomes for patients living with ILC.

As LARC's founding financial supporter, The Dynami Foundation is honored to help bring together the brightest minds in research to advance what's possible for the lobular breast cancer community.
