Wayne State helped Wayne State University College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts alumnus Arthur Lieb '60 set the stage for a lifetime of music, discovery, and creativity. 🎶

Lieb went from Wayne State’s Men’s Glee Club and radio station to a 25-year career at the Library of Congress — and even performances at the White House.

Now, he’s preserving Detroit’s creative legacy in "Motor City’s Musician Incubator", celebrating his Cass Tech classmates, including Lily Tomlin and Kenny Burrell.

Wayne State University School of Social Work alum Grayson Wilson spoke at this year's commencement about showing up even when it's hard.

Wilson, an immigrant and U.S. Army veteran, chose Wayne State because he saw similarities between his time in the Army and the obstacles that social workers and nurses face every day. These similarities ignited a passion that lives at the intersection of systems building and human development – the belief that lasting transformation begins not with programs, but with the operating systems we give people for navigating life.

Wilson's Wayne State story continues as he moves directly into the masters of Social Work program to pursue a concentration in community engagement and social action.

Watch Grayson Wilson's entire commencement speech at the link in our bio.
