Slow Fashion Slow Roll is an official Detroit Month of Design event organized and supported by Slow Stitch Detroit, Slow Roll Detroit Thursday Nights, 𝕮𝖑𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝕾𝖜𝖆𝖕 𝕱𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖎𝖛𝖆𝖑, and Back Alley Bikes.

A fashion show on wheels—this event highlights the needs and creativity Detroiters have around accessible clothing, art, and transportation. Meet the designers, artists, and enthusiasts that keep Detroit alive and thriving!

You’ve heard of “fast fashion” but what is “slow fashion”? How can we learn skills like clothing and bike repair to improve our quality of life and access to basic needs in a world that challenges those needs often.

It’s been a while and now we’re back for another Back Alley Bikes Garage Sale! We’re selling adult size bikes starting at $25. All bikes sold as is come see us on SATURDAY, August 15th from 12 to 4 PM.

Once you find your perfect match, come see us the next day at DIY Open Shop from 12-5p so we can show you how to tune up your new ride!

If you came to the last garage sale, you know that bikes go fast! Last time we sold over 100 bikes in less than one hour! How early will you be in line for our end-of-summer sale?

If you're like most of our volunteers and you've always wanted to learn to repair and build bicycles, you should join us for one of our two weekly volunteer nights! See the graphic for Wednesday and Thursday dates.

We were closed last week but it's back up and running at the BAB community workshop. While we can not control the weather, as long as it is reasonable, we will do our best to keep everyone cool while we're wrenching!

Heads up! Back Alley Bikes will be closed on July 5th so if you have any repair needs and you planned on coming to DIY Open Shop come see us this Sunday (6/28). If your repair is time sensitive, visit our storefront, The Hub of Detroit, on or before Thursday 7/2 (during their business hours) and they'll let you know how they can help.

To our wonderful volunteers: since The Hub is closed on the 4th this also means that Volunteer Open Shop is also closed that day. Enjoy the holiday with your family and friends and we'll see you soon!
