We're getting ready for a BRILLIANT new school year! Join us at the Central Hub on Saturday, Aug 22 from 1-4PM as part of the Piety Hill Neighborhood Association's Summer of Unity & Love Festival! 💙

Here at the hub, we're offering:
🎒 FREE backpacks stuffed with school supplies
📚 FREE books for your home library
👕 FREE community yard sale with clothes, shoes, purses, small household items, and so much more!
🍧 Popsicples & snacks while supplies last!

Backpacks are available to eligible Brilliant Detroit participants in Preschool-4th Grade and must be registered in advance. Supplies are limited and first-come, first-served, so don't wait!

Summer Camp Week Two was in full swing at the Central Hub! From imaginative play and games to time reading and personal one-on-one tutoring, every day has been a new adventure for our kids!

Summer Camp is officially underway, but it's not too late to join us!

This year's Enchanted Forest adventure invites rising 1st–4th graders to team up with a gnome or fairy sidekick as they solve mysteries, crack secret codes and build reading, writing and problem-solving skills.

Last year, more than 27,000 students participated in Summer Discovery across 169 sites in Southeast Michigan, and families saw incredible results:

✨ 93% said their child came back more prepared for school.
✨ 87% said the program made it easier to balance work and other responsibilities.
✨ 83% said it helped their family save money.
✨ 90% said they planned to return this year.

📚☀️ We had an amazing first week of our LitLab Afternoon Summer Camp! 💙

Our campers stayed busy with arts & crafts, writing, music, building, outdoor play, and even made their own windchimes! One of the week's biggest highlights was a special visit from Michigan Humane and some adorable kitten guests, where campers got to learn about pet safety and caring for animals. 😺

We're off to a great start and can't wait to share more summer fun with you. Stay tuned! 🏕️☀️

Available to rising 1st–4th graders, Mon–Thurs, July 6–August 13, the theme of camp this year is The Enchanted Forest. This summer, campers will embark on a mystical adventure with their very own gnome or fairy sidekick! Together, they’ll complete thrilling missions, crack secret codes, and unravel hidden mysteries using magic and curiosity. Through reading, writing and problem-solving, children will stretch their imagination while building key literacy and logic skills.

Our last LitLab day was spent doing two of our favorite things: reading and creating! 📚🎨 We had such a blast this spring learning, imagining, growing closer, and having fun.
