Over the weekend, we celebrated the best Our Backyard Detroit season yet! With Park Champions, Assistant Champion, and Gen:G Junior Champions, we shared our favorite memories from the last few months and reflected on the impact we were able to have on greenspaces in Detroit. A big thanks to the Department of Public Works GDYT, Growing Detroit’s Youth Talent team for canvassing with us! Together, we signed up over 50 homes for recycling carts that morning, which allows residents to divert over 25 tons of material annually!

How did the summer fly by so fast!? Even though our two AmeriCorps Vista Summer Associates are at the end of their official term, we know this is more of a "See ya soon!" than a goodbye. Over their 9-week terms, Renata and Casey have put in an enormous amount of work into the programs of ours that they supported. We couldn't be more grateful!💚💚💚

Weeding gardens, picking up trash in the Lincoln Street Art Park, and planting trees . . . 🌿🗑🌳 Oh my! We had a great time last week hosting a group of Ally employees who helped us beautify our greenspace! We're so grateful for their hard work. Thanks to their efforts, we picked up 125 lbs of trash 🤯, planted 2 trees, and had over a dozen yard waste bags from our weeding. Thank you, Ally volunteers!
