Join us this Saturday (April 18) at 12PM (ET) to hear our FOURTH GP Talk of the year with Andre Saffore!

Andre, a 2019 graduate of Grosse Pointe North is currently a Master’s at the Norfolk State University, where he serves as a lab tech in his class 100 cleanroom for semiconductor fabrication. He will be sharing his experience navigating GP schools, from Poupard to Parcells to Grosse Pointe North, and all the amazing things he is currently doing!

Last Friday we held our first IN-PERSON GP Talk with LaKeytria Felder, who engaged in an exciting conversation with us. Special thanks to Dr. Rhiannon Little-Surowski, who allowed us to host the event at her awesome business!

Join us this Friday at 6PM for our third GP Talk of the year and First IN-PERSON GP Talk ever at Van D**e Books! We will be joined by LaKeytria Felder.

LaKeytria Felder is a Charleston, SC native who attended public schools there, graduating from the Academic Magnet High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and was awarded a Harry S. Truman Scholarship. A Harvard Law School graduate, her legal career has spanned the private and public sectors in New York, Maryland, and DC. In Michigan, she pivoted to law teaching and expungement assistance for Detroiters.

LaKeytria is a Grosse Pointe Park resident and enjoys spending time with her family, travel, advocacy, and bingeing science fiction books & shows! Meet us At Van D**e Bookstore (located at 1417 Van D**e St, Detroit, MI 48214)

Warren, a 2019 graduate of Grosse Pointe North is currently a Master’s student in Sports & Psychology at the University of Denver, where is also an Operations Assistant. He will be sharing his experience navigating GP schools, from Monteith to Parcells to Grosse Pointe North, and all the amazing things he is currently doing!

Adam, a 2017 GP South graduate, is currently PhD candidate in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan! He will be sharing his experience navigating GP schools, from Our Lady Star of the Sea to Grosse Pointe South and all the amazing things he is currently doing!

For our Alumni focus this week, we are highlighting Andre Saffore.

Andre attended Grosse Pointe North High School, graduating in 2019. At North, he began running track & field as a sophomore. Andre had success in this sport, serving as Varsity all 3 years along with being recognized as All-MAC and an indoor state finalist. He was also part of Grosse Pointe North choir with the Norsemen and Pointe Chorale ensembles. Andre was a member of the Midnight Golf Program (MGP) class of 2019.

He attended Norfolk State University (NSU) for college. Here, he was a member of of I.E.E.E and NSBE, and made the dean’s list multiple times. Andre had internships at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, NSU, and sandia National laboratory. He graduated cm Maude with a degree in electrical and electronics engineering in Spring 2025.

Andre is currently at NSU in the masters program as a lab tech in his class 100 cleanroom for semiconductor fabrication. He is also captain of the Drone team that has been reinstated after 5 years . He is also working on multiple projects for his thesis as well. Career wise, Andre has always had a passion for the automotive industry, particularly in motorsports.

He believes having multiple experiences and a diverse background ultimately helps in order to solve problems in a different and creative way. We are so proud of you Andre!
