Detroit Kite Festival Detroit Kite festival is a celebration of kites and community on Belle Isle. The festival is always on the second Sunday in July.

The team is back and assisting with production!!

We’ll feature some festival favorites like the Wind Jammers, is returning to fly bubbles like kites, and we’ll also have some new features as well. We can’t tell you all the good stuff yet. Stay tuned for more.

We are officially 50 days from the 7th annual !!!

We are flashing back to last year’s festival. My sister from elementary school trekked up 75 to spend the day with us! Crazy how we’ve been friends for ALMOST as long as when this song was released.

Let your flavors fly high at DKF!
We’re calling all Detroit food vendors to bring the heat (and the eats) to the skies at this year’s Detroit Kite Festival!

If you’ve vended before, check your email (and that sneaky spam folder) for the form to let us know you’re down to fly with us again.

We’re looking for 10 vendors to serve a crowd of 5,000+—and trust, folks will be hungry. Most vendors sell out every year!

First time flying with DKF? Drop a comment below and we’ll send the details your way.

Vendor apps + fees are due June 13, 2025.
