Folds of Honor Iowa is honored and humbled that the family of Dennis Max Kepner has requested memorial contributions be directed to our mission in his memory.

Dennis served three tours in Vietnam as an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile), the legendary "Screaming Eagles," from 1969 to 1971. During his service, he participated in ground combat operations and numerous airmobile missions in hostile territory, often carrying both the platoon radio and M60 machine gun while providing communications and covering fire for his fellow soldiers.

His military decorations speak to a life of courage and sacrifice, including three Bronze Star Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He served his country with honor and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Beyond his military service, Dennis dedicated himself to his family, his community, fellow veterans, and countless individuals in recovery programs, offering the same steady support and commitment that defined his life.

We extend our deepest condolences to Charla, his children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew and loved him.

Thank you, Dennis, for your service, sacrifice, and the example you set for others. We are grateful to honor your legacy through the Folds of Honor scholarships your memorial gifts will help provide to the families of America's fallen and disabled service members and first responders.

On Memorial Day, we remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is not a chapter we close. It’s a legacy we carry.

Behind every fallen hero is a family living with an empty seat at the table, holding tight to memories, and continuing forward with quiet strength. Remembrance is more than a moment. It’s a responsibility.

Today, we honor the fallen by the way we live. With gratitude, with purpose, and with remembrance.

Dear Sponsors, Golfers, and Supporters,

After closely monitoring the forecast, course conditions, and discussing with Hyperion Field Club leadership, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Cerris Systems Folds of Honor Iowa Courage Cup originally scheduled for Monday, May 18.

With significant rainfall expected Sunday, the potential for unplayable course and poor cart conditions on Monday, and additional storms forecasted throughout the event day, we believe postponing is the best decision for the safety, experience, and enjoyment of everyone involved.

The event has been rescheduled for:
Monday, August 31, 2026

We are incredibly grateful for your support, flexibility, and commitment to the Folds of Honor mission. Because of supporters like you, we are able to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders right here in Iowa.

All golfer registrations and sponsorships may:
• Automatically transfer directly to the new August 31 date, or
• Be refunded upon request

In addition, our online silent auction will also be postponed and relaunched closer to the rescheduled event date to help maximize participation and fundraising impact.

Hello golfers and sponsors!

Just wanted to send a quick message letting you know we are monitoring the strong weather that is forecasted for this weekend and into Monday. We will plan on making a decision on Saturday regarding whether or not the Courage Cup will need to be postponed. We want to give plenty of heads up because we know your time is valuable and some may be traveling--but we also don't want to cancel too soon and have Monday be the most beautiful day of the year.

If we end up needing to cancel, we have identified Monday, August 31st as the makeup date. We will be able to move your existing registration/sponsorship to that date, or if you are unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund.

We will also delay opening the silent auction until this Saturday. If the event is posptoned, the silent auction will be as well.

Hopefully this message is meaningless and the Courage Cup goes off without a hitch...but just in case...be looking for more info on Saturday...
