Each year, we tend to begin collection for these items as we near the season— We’ve decided to start early this year! ❤️

Winter gear was given away and free hot meal of delicious chili was provided. We served over 100 people today and over the next week or two, we will continue to work hard to fulfill specific needs of those that came through and were unable to find their sizes.

Conversely, how did 2024 treat you financially? Are you looking for any additional opportunities for charitable giving?

Do Good Des Moines is a 501c3 charitable organization that is looking for YOUR help! Not only are we supporting our rural community of Osceola and surrounding towns with our annual Winter Warmth event by providing a free meal and winter gear.. but we just got a request for something that our current funds don’t allow us to do.

An elementary school in Des Moines is hoping to keep their students warm and have identified a need for SIXTY coats within their building. We can only meet these needs with your help!

We are thrilled to announce the details for our latest . In order to continue branching out and serving the entire central Iowa community-- You'll find that our location is quite different this year!

Rural areas often have less access to community programs, so here we are. We will be serving a soup supper from 2pm-6pm at the Osceola Fire Station, while giving away winter gear to families that may not have access otherwise. No reservations are required. Come as you are.

We are currently accepting new and gently used coat, hat, and glove donations at the Evelyn K. Davis Center, in conjunction with Men on The Move clothing closet, until November 22nd. If this donation site is not local to you, feel free to reach out and we will arrange pick up.

We'd like to give a big shout out to our current sponsor of Veridian Credit Union for their financial contribution! In addition, we appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with Men on The Move, the Osceola Fire Department. Last but not least, Trane HVAC for contributing in-kind donations with their own employee coat drive!

Great news! Men on the Move at the Evelyn K. Davis Center For Working Families will be collecting donations for our annual Winter Warmth drive until November 22nd!

Gently used and new coats, hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants, snow boots, and hand warmers will be accepted!
