September is NICU Awareness Month💚

September is a month to honor the tiniest fighters, the families who love them, and the incredible NICU teams who care for them every step of the way.

For many families, the NICU journey is one they never expected to take. It can be filled with uncertainty, fear, hope, long days, tiny milestones, and moments that stay with you forever. But behind every NICU stay is a story of strength, resilience, and love.

We’re shining a light on the 1 in 10 babies born prematurely in the United States, while recognizing the families who have walked this journey and remembering the little ones who are no longer with us.

At Average Everyday Miracles, we believe no family should have to navigate the NICU journey alone. We’re proud to support NICU families in our community and help provide connection, resources, and hope—during their NICU stay and beyond.

We’re so grateful to be able to continue supporting NICU families in meaningful ways. We recently donated an additional 4 dozen handheld mirrors to help ensure even more NICU rooms have access to these special tools during kangaroo care.

These shatterproof mirrors give parents the opportunity to see their baby’s face while holding them skin-to-skin—creating an extra moment of connection during a journey that can feel overwhelming and uncertain.

We hope these additional mirrors bring comfort, encouragement, and a little extra joy to NICU families during those precious moments together.

THANK YOU!

We are so incredibly grateful for everyone who donated this past week to help support our NICU families! Your generosity continues to make such a meaningful difference.

Because of YOU, we received:
🛏️ 34 sheets
🤍 17 swaddles
👶 42 sleepers
🍿 TONS of snacks!

Every sheet, swaddle, sleeper, and snack helps provide comfort and support to families during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

We truly cannot thank our amazing community enough for continuing to show up for NICU families. Thank you for helping us stock the NICU and reminding families that they are seen, supported, and never alone. ❤️

- Meat sticks
