We were lucky enough to attend an amazing gathering today in Fort Collins, at the First Peoples Community Center. A building, a pavilion, a drum, and a crowd of elders, families, and neighbors gathered in a space run by and for Native people. Sovereignty is not a slogan there. It has a roof and a front door.

Congratulations to Executive Director Nizhoni Valdez, the Board of Directors, and everyone who spent years carrying out the work to make this amazing day happen.
