❔ What did people find most valuable at the 2026 Peer Workforce Collaborative?

Relevance, clarity, and depth. These were the main themes mentioned in the 2026 attendee feedback! Each year, PWC trainers ensure their training topics actually apply to peer specialist work, so everyone can walk out feeling confident with their new skills.

Thank you to all the trainers who made it happen: Sparkle Lindsay, Liz Richards at HardBeauty, Ty Jackson at Serenity Recovery Connection, Dë Waldron from Advocates for Recovery Colorado Non-Profit, Stacy Jones and Doty Shepard from Resilient Colorado.

One of last year's COPA Outstanding Employee award winners was Rande Gaier. She is a paramount part of CHOW's many programs that support the wellbeing of industry workers across the state of Colorado.

Want to know more about each winner's story? You're in luck! We wrote profile articles on many of the 2025 winners. Each has a unique behavioral health journey very much worth reading.

Attendance increased, the amount of trainings, trainers, and CEUs increased, and the overall rating remained high. The PWC teams are committed to improving the event each year. Your feedback is truly valuable in this process, so thank you!

Representative Jackson's team asked us to share this opportunity in honor of our work together during this session, particularly in her leadership on HB26-1271, Alcohol Impact and Recovery Enterprises! COPA is unaffiliated with Rep. Jackson's re-election campaign.

Join Rep. Jamie Jackson for her after-session fundraiser on May 19th as supporters, community leaders, and advocates gather to celebrate the close of the legislative session and support her re-election campaign. Check out the flyer below for event details and RSVP information.

That’s a wrap, folks!

The 2026 legislative season officially ended on Wednesday. COPA members and partners played a key role in many behavioral health-related bills this year. Take a look!

Keep an eye out for more post-session updates from us

Rande Gaier is a strong advocate for mental health for culinary/hospitality workers. As a long-time barista herself, she loves to make and serve coffee, but the selfless industry culture has taken a toll over time.

Rande's story is similar to so many others in the industry. Thankfully, people like Rande and her team recognize the importance of providing care to those who serve others.
