If you want to hear it from the front lines, just know that people are fighting over food at some of our food shares.

Not because people are “bad.”
Because people are scared.

Food prices keep rising.
Benefits are shrinking.
Families are stretched beyond their limits.
And many community organizations are trying to hold the line with less funding, fewer resources, and exhausted teams.

We see the stress in real time.
Parents skipping meals.
Seniors apologizing for taking “too much.”
Volunteers trying to de-escalate situations that should never have existed in the first place.

Food insecurity doesn’t always look like empty shelves.
Sometimes it looks like tension, survival mode, and communities pushed past their breaking point.

This is why food access matters.
This is why dignity matters.
This is why investing in community care matters before systems reach crisis levels.

We’re still here.
Still showing up.
Still sharing what we can with love and urgency. ❤️

A society can often be measured by what people are forced to fight over.

Muchas gracias a Whitney y Pabiola por brindar información valiosa a las familias inmigrantes anoche en nuestro evento del Plan de Preparación Familiar. Gracias también a Koylee de Rocky Mountain Language Coop por traducir la información al inglés.

Publicaremos el video en los próximos días para que las familias inmigrantes del condado de Jefferson puedan prepararse para las medidas migratorias. Sabemos que estas conversaciones son difíciles, pero debemos tener un plan para nuestras familias y nuestros hijos.

Big thank you to Whitney and Pabiola for presenting valuable information for immigrant families last night at our Family Preparedness Plan event. Thanks to Koylee from Rocky Mountain Language Coop for interpreting the information into English.

We will be posting the video in the next few days so immigrant families across Jefferson County can be prepared for immigration actions. These are hard conversations to have, but we must have a plan for our families and our children.

Thanks to all who donated to support the family in Edgewater whose husband/dad is in the process of being deported. We just delivered $1,800 in cash so they could pay their rent and have a little extra for groceries or anything else they needed. Thanks so much for your generosity!

This fund will continue to be used to support Jeffco immigrants impacted by federal actions.
