West Colfax

West Colfax The Lakewood-West Colfax BID and WCCA exists to serve the community by providing a unified voice for advocacy.

We work with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to support the evolution of this historic corridor to align with the community vision and values. Our Story
The West Colfax story is as vivid and varied as any in the country. It comes with its own lore, its own brandβ€”and a history rich in character and creativity. As the historic heart of Lakewood, West Colfax has seen both high and low times. Now, th

e West Colfax Corridor is re-emerging from re-routed traffic patterns and the resulting economic impact. The renaissance is beginningβ€”right before our eyes! Today, West Colfax is rife with opportunities for existing businesses and innovators seeking to enter at the early stage of revitalization. Our Historic Heart
West Colfax has been at the epicenter of entrepreneurial and cultural activities for more than 150 years. Now, with the opening of light rail (W Line), the emergence of 40 West Arts District, and the opportunities created by both Lakewood’s newly unveiled Zoning Ordinance, and the abundance of under-utilized properties, the corridor is buzzing with energy as it enters the early stages of revitalization. Combined with the Lakewood City leadership and its commitment to renewal, West Colfax is rife with opportunities for existing and future businesses. 🌱✨ Growing Together: The West Colfax Sculpture Walk Refresh! ✨🌱

There is something truly magical about watching our community come together to pour love back into the places we share. This past weekend, that magic happened right at the corner of Colfax and Wadsworth!

If you’ve walked or driven by lately, you might notice things looking a little brighter, greener, and more welcoming.

Originally built in 2022 to transform a vacant corner into a beautiful gateway showcasing public art, history, and landscaping, our beloved Sculpture Walk just got a beautiful update.

A massive thank you to the 18 incredible volunteers who spent their morning weeding, planting vibrant new flora, spreading fresh mulch, and watering the planters to give this historic intersection the care it deserves.

Because of your hands and hearts, this neighborhood landmark continues to thrive as a welcoming space for everyone.

Kudos to the City of Lakewood for organizing such a wonderful morning, and to the neighbors who showed up to make a tangible difference. It’s projects like these that remind us that a neighborhood isn’t just where we live. It’s who we are when we work together.

πŸ’š Want to get involved next time? There are always opportunities to connect, create memories, and help our community shine. Keep an eye out for upcoming projects. We would love to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you at the next one!

🏘️ Imagine walking into one building and finding everything your family needs under one roof.

That's the vision behind The Commons at Emory, 's bold reimagining of the former Emory Elementary School in Lakewood.

The Commons offer nine essential services:

πŸ₯ Medical care
πŸ›’ Free groceries
🧠 Behavioral health
πŸ’Ό Workforce training
πŸ‘§ Kids' programs
πŸ“š Life skills
πŸŽ“ Education
🀝 Family support
🌱 Enrichment

All integrated, all in one place.

The model is evidence-based: families are 3–4Γ— more likely to thrive when services are bundled rather than scattered across town (Center for Working Families).

A coalition is making it happen. Anchor partners include , , , Paragon, and Skyhawks Sports β€” alongside The Action Center.
