Here's a little boogie break with this years Program Specialist staff!💃

These amazing people have been working hard this spring programming with students across Denver.

This week, we took some time to learn and re familiarize ourselves with the best ways to take care of all our school gardens. If you happen to see any of them working hard in the gardens this summer, tell them they're doing great!

☀️ It’s officially summer time. This spring programming season was amazing. We saw 5,790 students, we had 11 community and volunteer events, and over 739 of you from the community came out to help!

🌺 We had so much fun at every school and we know the students enjoyed their time as well. Now, our program specialists are taking care of all our sites- making sure all the plants the students planted are beautiful and producing.

🥕 Here's a recap of last week as we head into our final days of spring programming before summer break!
We saw 1,604 students across 17 different schools!
Every one of these schools and students are so important to us. We're able to capture amazing moments, and to show young people not only where their food comes from, but also how they have a hand in the importance of food and nutrition in their own communities.

One of our biggest priorities is getting seedlings into every garden before students leave for summer. Students love to hear about how their plants will get big and strong over the summer, and are beyond excited to see them when they return in the fall!

Happy last week of school! ✏️ 🌿 ☀️

🌿 May 29th is the Garden Ribbon Cutting!

So many hands and so much love has gone into making this garden come to life over the past few years. This garden has been the dream of the students and the community, and we can finally see it become a reality!

We're so thankful to every volunteer and group that had a hand in helping this garden cross the finish line, including Gals Who Garden, Valverde Neighborhood Association,

🗓 Friday, May 29th
⏰ 11:30AM - 1PM
📍 Florence Crittenton High School

Come celebrate all the work we've done together, and what's to come from this garden for these students and their families. 💚

🎉 Our very own Development Coordinator Erin Casey is graduating from the SVP Fundraising Accelerator! We're so proud of Erin and how she continually aims to learn more about fundraising and development. She helps to make sure SustainEd Farms is the best it can be to serve our students.

On Thursday, May 21st, SVP is throwing a commemoration to celebrate the organizations, including Erin and SustainEd, finishing the Fundraising Accelerator Program. There will be reflections, reconnections, and much community love!

If you'd like to come celebrate with us, we'll be at Park Hill Innovation Hub from 4p-6p!

A quick recap of last week's programming! The students have been LOVING the carrot salad!
We saw 1,809 students and we were at 14 schools
When one of the program specialists was going through the carrot salad activity, one student said, “my grandma is the best cook around, she’s kind of a superhero.”

We want to shoutout for their generous donations of spent mushroom substrate.

🍄 Mushroom substrate improves soil structure, moisture retention and provides nutrients for plants.

While enriching the soil at our school sites this has also opened up some fun learning opportunities for our middle school enrichments!

You can find their mushrooms, every weekend, at the South Pearl Street, The Highlands farmers markets and in some of your favorite resturaunts.
