The League was organized in January of 1974 under the sponsorship of the Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Wheat Ridge. The Wheat Ridge Art League was founded in 1974 to pursue the study of fine art, encourage originality and provide members with the opportunity to obtain public recognition. Members gather monthly to provide support and encouragement to each other. We cont
inue to learn from one another and also from the excellent demonstrations conducted by experienced local artists at each meeting. In addition, the League sponsors several workshops each year, also conducted by popular local artists using a variety of mediums. All levels of expertise are represented, from beginners to accomplished painters. Membership Benefits include free demos by renowned artists, participation in official WRAL shows and regular exhibits, newsletter, discounts for workshops, use of our library, and the right to display their works on our Facebook and Instagram pages and the Wheat Ridge Art League Website Member Gallery section, free of charge. If you think you might be interested in joining, you are welcome to come to any meeting and be our guest. WRAL normally meets on the second Tuesday of the month, at the Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church, 7530 W. 38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Social mixer and art share start at 6:30 pm, business meeting at 7 pm, and live demo at 7:30 pm (USA Mountain Time).
