It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Axel, one of our cherished Special Spaces bedroom recipients. Axel’s strength, smile, and spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While we are deeply saddened by this loss, we are grateful to have been a small part of bringing comfort and joy to his life through his dream bedroom.

Please keep Axel’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. His memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Ten-year-old Michael, who is courageously battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia, loves gaming--especially Roblox! 🎮✨ In July, we plan to give Michael a brand new room that will be more than a place to sleep — it will be his own ultimate gaming retreat! A space where he can escape into his favorite worlds, recharge, and just be a kid. 💚 And we are planning special surprises for his two sisters too!

What Jennifer Swain started in Knoxville, TN as a simple mission has grown into something truly remarkable.

We never imagined that Special Spaces would bring over 2000 dream bedrooms to children with cancer across ten chapters. This impact has only been possible thanks to strong leadership, unwavering passion, and countless volunteer days and nights devoted to our mission.

Christopher Swain has helped guide, elevate, create, and lead Special Spaces as Executive Director with heart and vision. His dedication has shaped not only our teams, but also the lives of the children and families we serve.

We are honored to announce that Chris will continue as the Chairman of the National Board for Special Spaces as we begin a professional search for a new full-time National Executive Director. We’re not quite ready to share everything — but we’re close, so stay tuned!

Through the generosity of 𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑨𝑳 𝑫𝑬𝑩𝑻 𝑯𝑶𝑳𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑺 https://nationaldebtholdings.com/, Nigel, who is battling a rare form of soft tissue/bone cancer, received his dream bedroom filled with guitars, a drum set, and everything he loves. This is more than a bedroom… it’s a place to heal and create. Nigel’s sister, Faith, also received a room refresh. Making sure siblings are included is an important reminder that cancer impacts the whole family—not just the child in treatment.

A heartfelt thank you to our 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 and the incredible community partners who stepped up to make every detail meaningful: Rabbit Floors, Closets by Design - Palm Beach & Treasure Coast, Eau Resort & Spa for providing lodging for the family, Myla's Beleaf for referring Nigel to us, ’s Sports Grill Greenacres and -fil-A Greenacres, and UNITED WE ROCK FOUNDATION for the electric guitar that brought Nigel’s love of music to life in his new room.

This month, we’re so happy to celebrate Isabelle 💙🩷
Isabelle is bravely fighting Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, and her dream bedroom wish was filled with butterflies, jellyfish, and her favorite colors, pink and blue.

Together with Special Spaces and Special Spaces Boca Raton, her bedroom was transformed into a beautiful space designed just for her, a place full of comfort, imagination, and joy. From the playful theme to the calming colors, every detail was chosen to make this room feel extra special. 🦋🪼

We’re proud that MLILY could be part of Isabelle’s makeover by donating a mattress to help create a cozy place for rest, healing, and sweet dreams.

Because every child deserves a space that feels safe, personal, and full of hope.✨

Jacob is bravely facing brain cancer 💙, and his courage inspired an unforgettable surprise. He was greeted in front of his home by a firetruck from the 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 🚒✨ and was presented with a real fire helmet—a heroic welcome for our little superhero.

Inside, Jacob stepped into his 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 🕷️💥, a room he shares with his mom. The space, sponsored by New Beginnings - Peter & Ryta Seremet, gives them a place to create happy memories during this challenging journey.
