While volunteers are busy creating Landon’s and his brother, Tatum’s dream bedrooms, the family is enjoying a peaceful stay at The Boca Raton Resort and Club giving them a beautiful place to relax and enjoy time together while we prepare a special surprise at home.

𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹! 💛

One of the most meaningful moments was hearing from two past Special Spaces recipient families and a returning bedroom sponsor, New Beginnings - Peter & Ryta Seremet, which was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Every dream bedroom makeover brings joy, comfort, and hope to a child with cancer and their family.

𝗔 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸-𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗼’𝘀, as well as all of our generous sponsors and raffle donors. Your support makes it possible for us to continue creating dream bedrooms for local children.

𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲, and seeing her reaction made every moment worth it! 💗

Before the makeover, Bella and her brother were sleeping on air mattresses with no bedroom furniture. Today, they each have a beautiful, comfortable space of their own.

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: We're thrilled to share inspiring news — Special Spaces has named Jody Bartnick as our new National Executive Director, effective September 21, 2026.

Jody brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership dedicated to children, families, and community impact. Her passion for mission-driven work, her commitment to collaboration, and her heart for creating healing spaces for children battling cancer make her an incredible addition to our Special Spaces family.

As we continue creating dream bedrooms across the country — nearly 200 each year — Jody will help lead our next chapter of growth, connection, and impact.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Axel, one of our cherished Special Spaces bedroom recipients. Axel’s strength, smile, and spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While we are deeply saddened by this loss, we are grateful to have been a small part of bringing comfort and joy to his life through his dream bedroom.

Please keep Axel’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. His memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
