We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the med students from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and Dr. Sara Guerrero-Duby for joining us for our Teddy Bear Clinic that we hosted last week! 
It’s no secret that our kiddos are frequent flyers at doctors offices and hospitals, but that doesn’t make it any easier. The goal of a Teddy Bear Clinic is to help get participants comfortable with things they may experience and see at doctors offices, in an environment that they’re already comfortable in like the Playhouse!
The students did an incredible job caring for every teddy bear patient while helping our participants build confidence and see that a trip to the doctor does not have to be scary. We are so grateful for their time, energy, and compassion. Our teddy bears are already asking when their next appointment is!

This week, we're sharing some of our favorite moments from our incredible 5K & DeerFIELD Day! 💙💛

Today, we're celebrating an amazing partner. We are so grateful to companies that choose to invest in our mission, and United Airlines has truly gone above and beyond. 😉✈️

From touring the Playhouse and learning about our programs, to having meaningful conversations about making air travel more accessible for children and adults with disabilities, to sharing resources and creating a team for our 5K, United has embraced our community every step of the way.

And because that wasn't enough... they even volunteered for a shift in the Dunk Tank! Thank you to Michael for taking a cold seat and giving everyone who's ever experienced a delayed flight a chance to channel those frustrations into something that truly makes a difference. Every splash helped raise funds for our free programming.

Thank you, United Airlines, for showing what true community partnership looks like. Good really does lead the way. 💙

GiGi’s Playhouse Deerfield is excited to launch our FIRST EVER Print Calendar.

This year’s theme celebrates Dads (including grandpas, stepdads, big brothers, uncles, and other meaningful male role models.) We want to highlight the special relationships, everyday moments, and lasting connections shared with these important figures.

We have an incredible photographer Eric Bohl taking authentic “slice of life” photos that capture real moments together, whether it’s getting a haircut, shooting hoops, working on a puzzle, going to the races, fishing, playing games, attending GiGi's programs, or simply spending time together.

At GiGi's Deerfield we are dedicated not only to providing free programming but also to educating and advocating. These print calendars will be brought to hospitals, doctors offices, given to families just receiving the diagnosis and corporate partners supporting our mission. Our goal is for everyone to see the real joy that comes with having a child with Down syndrome. Apply to be a part of this important project today!

May we have your attention please!

Today our Executive Director is celebrating 11 years in the GiGi’s Playhouse community! Shannon began her journey looking for work that was meaningful, she took a role at GiGi’s National office, she brought joy and a get it done attitude with her! These traits continued to grow and the Deerfield Playhouse was so lucky when she decided to join the team and help open our doors! We continue to grow and impact our community under her leadership!

It's a super exciting week at GiGi's Deerfield with our 5K and DeerFIELD Day THIS SATURDAY, but don't worry, there are still plenty of other exciting programs happening this week!

As we are getting in to a busier season at GiGi's Deerfield, we would like to remind families to register for programs that you know you will be at! This helps us make sure that we have enough support and supplies for everyone that will be there. As always, if plans change and you realize you are able to attend a program at the last minute PLEASE still come. Never let registration stop you from attending a program!
