Perifania young adults dancing a suite from the Aegean Islands !

We’re so proud of the work they put in this year. They have learned 18+ dances this year alone, from various parts of main land Greece to the islands! 🇬🇷👌🏼

Perifania’s Youth Group (also known as our Minions and Munchkins 💙) performing a suite of dances from Δωδεκάνησα (Dodecanese Islands).

This group brings the energy—both on and off the dance floor—and we could not be prouder of them! This year, they have learned more than 12 dances, from mainland Greece to the many islands. 🇬🇷✨

Some of our youth put on a beautiful performance yesterday evening! They presented a suite of dances from the Dodecanese islands of Ρόδο & Κω (Rhodes & Kos)

These are some of our youngest dancers and it’s their very first year dancing — we couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve accomplished! 💙

Thank you to the families who invited us and for the support!🫶🏻

That the first Greek Orthodox church in America was founded in New Orleans in 1864?
Greek immigrants began arriving in New Orleans as early as the late 1700s. Many were sailors, merchants, or refugees, especially after the Greek War of Independence. Because NoLa was a major port city, it became a natural entry point and settlement area!🇬🇷

We have been looking forward to this event since the cold winter days of December!
Today marks the celebration of spring, flowers, and new beginnings. We loved spending the afternoon with the residents creating flower wreaths for their doors, as this is tradition in Greece, while also learning that today we honor the strengths of workers everywhere!
