A lot of people use the terms DCD and Dyspraxia interchangeably. Some believe these terms represent different diagnoses. DCD is defined as a disorder affecting fine and gross motor coordination in children and adults. DCD is formally recognized by international organizations including the World Health Organization. Dyspraxia is a lifelong neurologic disorder that results in impaired motor, judgment, processing, memory, and cognitive skills. Each individual living with Dyspraxia has different weaknesses and abilities. Regardless of what term you use, more research is needed to bring clarity and awareness to these disorders.
