UPDATE: THANKS TO LISA, LORITA AND THERESA FOR THE DONATIONS. THE FOOD IS GOING TO NANCY THIS MORNING.
Suzi here. When my husband and I first got together, people would drop off sick animals, mostly cats…and we’d take care of them as best we could with the little money we had and with the help of our vet (Dr Baker). We watched many of them wither away and die. We did what we could and gave them the best final days that we could. It was tough, but we were glad to do it if it was needing to be done.
There is a woman in Findlay Illinois, Nancy, who is in the same situation right now. She’s an older woman on a fixed income and has acquired many animals that are simply hungry, are sick, or injured, and she accepts all and helps as much as she can. She does this without asking for any help.
Her Social Security $$ was scammed away from her, and her son has recently had medical problems, and she is struggling to get herself and her son through the month with a little money. Her real worry though is that she won’t be able to meet the food needs on this large number of animals that she finds herself with.
Being in Shelby County, NHAO programs are not available to her since we only care for animals in Macon County. However, I was hoping that we could all open our hearts and help her out as much as possible.
You will see pictures of some of her animals below. If you can donate money to help her purchase food, it would be wonderful. If you can donate in one of the following ways, please note NANCY on your donation, so we’re sure that she receives it.
The Venmo QR code that this picture can be used, you can donate on our website by going to nhaodecaturil.org And clicking on the donate button. You can send a check to NHAO, box 22, Decatur IL 62525. Or you can donate food to 2026 Dagmar Pl. Decatur IL… Drive to the end of Dagmar, turn left onto EUEL, and left into the first driveway. Don’t forget to mention NANCY!
She needs cat food, Kitten Food, large breed kibble for dogs, small breed, kibble for dogs —not chicken - And litter. Thank you so much for any help you can give. 🐾❤️🐾
