After much thought and consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision not to host Heroicon in 2025.

There are several factors behind this choice, but the biggest challenge has been securing adequate space that meets the standards we’ve set for the Heroicon experience. We’re proud of what this event has become and the community it has brought together, and we don’t want to compromise on what makes it special.

We know this is disappointing news, and it’s not a decision we made lightly. We’re incredibly grateful for all the support, enthusiasm, and love the Heroicon community has shown over the years. 💙

This isn’t goodbye forever — we’re taking this time to regroup, explore new options, and ensure that when Heroicon returns, it will be with the quality, heart, and fun you’ve come to expect.

We want to make it very clear. There is no room for hate in our community. We are sorry to hear what happened to this FLGS up in Bloomington and stand with them, and many other groups, against this hatred.

In case you have not heard, overnight Saturday someone stuck anti-Jewish literature on our doors, and the doors of the Pantagraph & McLean County Democrats. They were fliers with links to & logos of the american neo-nazi party.

We do not know if we were targeted, or just convenient. The police are aware and are looking at downtown cameras. New cameras to cover more angles outside of our building have been purchased.

We will remain steadfast in our belief that games are for everyone. We will not ever tolerate bullying or anything that tries to create distinctions between people.
We will continue to be the safe space for anyone who simply wants to enjoy playing games.

Heroicon 2024 came to an end yesterday and it was so fantastic to see everyone! We want to thank all the exhibitors, GMs, attendees, and volunteers who helped put this convention of ours on!

The team will take a few days off and then start discussions on what's next.
