Our first work party for dock repair is this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. we need to do a general cleanup of the shop area and also start unstacking the main sections of the docks to identify which ones need to be repaired and how much wood we're going to have to get.

PUBLIC FORUM ON CARBON SEQUESTRATION UNDER LAKE DECATUR

A discussion of the proposed permanent storage of millions of tons of carbon dioxide approximately one mile deep under Lake Decatur will take place on Monday, January 12 at 5:30 PM on the 1st floor Madden Auditorium of the Decatur Public Library. The community forum will include a discussion of Decatur’s easement with ADM to sequester CO2 under the lake, and the potential infrastructure Decatur would need to invest in to accommodate additional carbon sequestration activities. The public is invited to share their views on proposed carbon sequestration activities. The forum is part of the “Council Connections” series which provides an opportunity for discussion of critical issues impacting residents. Two Decatur City Council members alternate hosting the public forums. Everyone is welcome to attend.

All boats need to be out of the water by Saturday, October 11 - Dock Take Out is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 starting at 9:00am. Please bring your work gloves, tools and kneepads if desired and be ready to assist. All hands are needed.

It was a great evening at the Caribbean Night cookout! As usual, the food was terrific! It was nice seeing all the people enjoying one another’s company.
